SEAT ROTATION POSITION SENSOR

A vehicle includes a base and a seat rotatable relative to the base. The vehicle includes a helical ramp fixed relative to one of the base and the seat. The vehicle includes a linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) including a housing fixed relative to the other of the base and the seat and a plunger moveably supported by the housing. The plunger contacts the helical ramp.

VEHICLE SEATING ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM

A vehicle includes a vehicle control module and restraint control module operably coupled to the vehicle control module. A seating assembly is operable between a folded position and an unfolded position. A user-interface includes a microphone. The microphone receives a user command to adjust a seating position of the seating assembly and sends a request signal to the vehicle control module. The vehicle control module controls a seating position adjustment based on a start signal from the restraint control module.

VEHICLE SEAT WITH TILTING SEAT PORTION

A vehicle seat can be configured to provide support to a vehicle occupant in conditions when lateral acceleration is experienced. Shape memory material members can be operatively positioned with respect to a seat portion of the vehicle seat. The shape memory material members can be selectively activated by an activation input. When activated, the shape memory material members can engage a seat pan so as to cause the seat pan to tilt in a respective lateral direction. As a result, a seat cushion supported by the seat pan can also tilt in the respective lateral direction. The seat cushion can be tilted in a lateral direction that is opposite to the direction of the lateral acceleration. Thus, the effects of lateral acceleration felt by a seat occupant can be reduced. The shape memory material members can be selectively activated based on vehicle speed, steering angle, and/or lateral acceleration.

IN-VEHICLE TERMINAL DEVICE AND DISPLAY METHOD FOR IN-VEHICLE DISPLAY

In an in-vehicle terminal device that is able to perform communication with a server device, an identification information acquisition unit acquires identification information of a user who boards a vehicle. A communication unit transmits the identification information of the user to the server device and receives arrangement information of a plurality of display elements corresponding to the identification information of the user transmitted from the server device. A setting unit decides an arrangement of the display elements of the in-vehicle display according to an arrangement criterion based on vehicle type information of the vehicle using the arrangement information of the display elements corresponding to the identification information of the user.

MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SEAT ASSEMBLY DIVIDED INTO SEVERAL, SINGULARY ADJUSTABLE PORTIONS

A motor vehicle includes a structural element and a seat having at least two separate and independent seat portions, each of the seat portions being configured to support a part of a user's body and being independently coupled to the structural element in a movable manner relative to the structural element with three degrees of freedom including two translations in a plane along respective orthogonal axes and a rotation around a further axis orthogonal to said plane.

VEHICLE SEAT WITH MORPHING PORTIONS

A vehicle seat can be configured to selectively provide support to a vehicle occupant in conditions when lateral acceleration is experienced. An actuator can be located within the vehicle seat. When activated, the actuator cause a portion of the seat to morph into an activated configuration. The actuator can be activated based on vehicle speed, steering angle, and/or lateral acceleration. The actuator can include end members connected by a shape memory material connecting member. Actuator blocks with sliding surfaces can be located between the end members. The actuator can be configured such that, in response to an activation input, the shape memory material connecting member contracts, which draws the end members toward each other and causes corresponding sliding surfaces of the plurality of actuator blocks to engage and slide relative to each other. In this way, the actuator morphs into an activated configuration in which its overall height increases.

A system and method for adjusting seats of different vehicles, wherein the vehicles comprise means for retrieving an identifier of a seat user, wherein the system comprises means for storing data of seat adjustments made by an identified user in a first vehicle which are associated with the user identifier, comprises means for transmitting the seat adjustment data of the first vehicle and user identifier data to a second vehicle of a different type than the first vehicle, and comprises means for converting seat adjustment data of the first vehicle into seat adjustment data of the second vehicle so as to offer the user similar comfort in vehicles of different types.

SEATBACK ROTATING DEVICE

Provided is a seatback rotating device. The seatback rotating device includes an electric motor and an application mechanism. The electric motor generates a rotational force that is used to rotationally displace a seatback of a vehicle seat. The application mechanism enables application of the rotational force to the seatback. The application mechanism has a configuration that enables the seatback to be self-rotatable with gravity applied to the seatback in response to the rotational force being applied to the seatback.

Vehicle seat

An occupant support adapted for use in a vehicle includes a sensory system and a control system. The sensor system is configured to generate signals indicative of at least one of a physiological characteristic of the occupant.
