STOWABLE CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE SEAT
A vehicle safety system includes a vehicle seat and a child restraint system integrated with the vehicle seat. The child restraint system includes an illuminated status indicator system. The child restraint system includes an occupant detection system. The child restraint system includes one or more position sensors configured to determine seat bottom position. The child restraint includes a harness system. The harness system is stored behind a door panel in a seat back of the vehicle seat. The harness system includes one or more load sensors. The load sensors work in combination with a motor to automatically adjust harness fit. The child restraint system is configured to automatically deploy. The child restraint system is configured to automatically stow. The vehicle safety system includes an input/output (I/O) device configured to facilitate interactions with the child restraint system.
Method for detecting state of presence of object in vehicle
Systems and techniques are described herein for detecting a state of presence of a given object in a vehicle. In aspects, techniques include processing data received over time from various devices in the vehicle to determine a set of accumulated scores. The data includes parameters indicative of a presence or absence of a detected object in the vehicle. Further, the processing may be effective to determine a set of accumulated scores. The techniques further include determining an object-related confidence value representing a likelihood that the detected object is present in the vehicle, based on the set of accumulated scores, and then comparing the object-related confidence value to a predetermined threshold. The comparison is sufficient to detect the presence of the detected object in the vehicle if the object-related confidence value exceeds the predetermined threshold.
CHILD ABANDONMENT MONITOR
A child car seat is provided, comprising a base; a seat coupled to the base; and a sensor device mounted to the base or the seat, the sensor device including a sensor that outputs a measurement signal indicating whether a child is present in the seat, a processor that receives the measurement signal and determines whether a child is present, and a communication circuit that transmits a proximity signal configured for reception by a first mobile device. The proximity signal causes a first alert to be communicated to the first mobile device in response to the first mobile device exceeding a range from the sensor device, and a second alert to be communicated to a second mobile device if, after a threshold amount of time, the measurement signal continues to indicate that a child is present and no response is received in response to the first alert.
CHILD CAR SEAT WITH SYSTEM FOR DOUBLE-THRESHOLD TRIGGERING OF ACTIVE PROTECTION MEANS
A child car set includes an accident-detection system and a child-protection system that is active during a situation detected by the accident-detection system. The child car seat includes a system for triggering the child-protection system based on acceleration measurement.
Vehicle Child Detection and Response System
A process is provided that uses a sensor system incorporated into the passenger cabin of a vehicle to detect children and/or pets left unattended and who are therefore at risk of serious injury or death due to heat stroke. If an unattended child or pet is detected, a variety of alerts are issued over time, the escalating nature of the alerts intended to insure a rapid response. After the system has operated long enough to insure that no child or pet has been left behind, the sensor system is automatically placed into a standby mode. In standby mode the sensor system may either be turned completely off in order to minimize off-line power consumption or it may be incorporated into an on-board security system.
System and method for backseat child safety
A new approach is proposed that contemplates system and method to backseat child safety in a passenger vehicle by preventing locking of the vehicle in a parked state when at least one of its backseats is occupied. Specifically, one or more backseat sensors are each configured to detect if one of the backseats of the vehicle is occupied by a passenger. Upon accepting signals from the backseat sensors indicating that at least one of the backseat is occupied, a vehicle controller is configured to disallow locking of the vehicle in the parked state. The vehicle controller is configured to only enable locking of the vehicle when a backdoor corresponding to the occupied backseat has been opened as detected by one of a plurality of backdoor sensors, which generates and provides a backdoor signal to the vehicle controller when the corresponding backdoor to the occupied backseat is opened.
Pressures Sensor Device for a Car Seat with Wireless Communication
A car seat pressure sensor device with wireless communication includes a wireless transmitter and a pressure sensor assembly. The wireless transmitter is configured for wirelessly communicating with a portable electronic device via a wireless signal. The pressure sensor assembly includes at least one pressure sensor and is interconnected with the wireless transmitter. The pressure sensor assembly is operable to turn on or off the wireless signal from the wireless transmitter. The pressure sensor device is configured to turn on the wireless signal from the wireless transmitter for communication with the portable electronic device when the pressure sensor assembly senses a certain weight, and turn off the wireless signal from the wireless transmitter for communication with the portable electronic device when the pressure sensor assembly does not sense the certain weight.
INFANT ANTI-ABANDONMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
An infant anti-abandonment system and method includes an electrical communication network installed OEM into a vehicle, a transmitter coupled to the electrical communication network including, a plurality of weight detection sensors installed in the vehicle seats and at least one child car-seat, a wireless link between the electrical communication network and the plurality of weight detection sensors, a timer and an alarm. The infant anti-abandonment system and method is useful for alerting as to child-occupancy in an unattended vehicle.
SENSOR DEVICE AND DEVICE FOR CHECKING THE OPERATIONAL CONDITION OF A HARNESS OF A SAFETY SEAT
A device for controlling the correct operating state of a restraining harness, intended for a safety seat, including at least one retaining strap that is under tension when the harness is in the state of restraining the occupant, the device being intended to be disposed in a predefined area of the latter, the device including: at least one sensor device including an elongate flexible element that is suitable for being positioned on the strap, and in particular rigidly connected thereto in the predefined area, and that is provided with a measuring system to measure, in the predefined area, at least a level of bending and/or tilting of the strap, a device to collect values linked to the level of bending and/or tilting, and internal or external device configured to analyse the values and of communicating with a receiver for receiving information on the operating state of the retaining harness.
Effective and economical car seat reminder system and kit
Car seat reminder system providing a connection between the parent or child caregiver driver of an automobile and the infant or child in a car seat positioned on a seat behind the driver's seat in the automobile. The connection is provided by a connector, such as a string, cord, rope, cable, chain, thread, ribbon, or lacing material, having two ends, with one end connected to the car seat, and the other end connected to the key or other mechanism for starting or otherwise turning on the vehicle. The connector should be sufficiently long to reach between the car seat when it is in place on a seat behind the driver's seat, and the automobile ignition point where the vehicle is turned on or the ignition is activated.
