SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVABLE VEHICLE SEAT SENSOR
Methods and systems for detection of removable vehicle seats may be used to indicate presence or absence of a child in the vehicle. In some examples, an alarm system includes a radio frequency (RF) transceiver and a removable seat magnetic coupling. Various actions are triggered when the parent (e.g., guardian) goes beyond a predefined range while the removable seat is within the vehicle, such as sounding an alarm on a mobile electronic device.
Methods and apparatus for aligning vehicle components
Some embodiments are directed to an indicator assembly for indicating an orientation between a vehicle seat back and a seat bottom. The indicator assembly can include an outer plate assembly that is configured to be supported by the seat bottom, and a movable plate that is movably supported by the outer plate assembly. A biasing device can apply a biasing force to bias the movable plate toward the seat back when the outer plate assembly is supported by the seat bottom to thereby define a projecting portion of the movable plate. The biasing device can enable the movable plate to move upon application of a force to the projecting portion that is greater than the biasing force. An indicator can indicate a relative orientation between the seat back and the seat bottom based on the amount of movement of the movable plate.
Child car seat having active protection means
The present disclosure concerns a child car seat comprising an active protection system and a system for triggering the active protection system when needed.
ALARM SYSTEM
The invention is directed to an alarm system for safety of infants from being left out in vehicles and comprises a pressure sensor, batteries, speaker, multiple set of actuating buttons and a recorder embodied inside a cushioned pillow or back rest. The alarm system uses the pressure sensor by locating it inside a back rest preferably used by the driver of a vehicle. The alarm system of the present disclosure further is in the form of a recorder connected to the pressure sensor and speaker and functions using battery power.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR PREVENTING INJURY TO A VEHICLE PASSENGER OR PACKAGE
The present disclosure comprises methods and devices for alerting those outside a vehicle that a passenger or package is present within the vehicle.
BABY ON BOARD REMINDER
An instrument panel interaction system for an automotive vehicle is provided that includes an alerting device configured to produce an alert. A controller is controllably coupled to the alerting device, the controller being operable to activate the alerting device to produce the alert. An inquiring device is communicatively coupled to the controller. The inquiring device is configured to ask the driver whether a child is present. The controller is configured to activate the alerting device to produce the alert when a predetermined condition is met and an affirmative response has been received that a child is present. A method of reminding a driver of the presence of a child within a motor vehicle is also provided.
Vehicle car safety seat alert system
A vehicle child safety seat alert system for alerting a caregiver if a child has been left behind in a vehicle. The vehicle child safety seat alert system includes a seat component configured to determine whether a child is sitting on the seat component, identify a Bluetooth signal from the target vehicle and use that signal to determine when the vehicle is turned off, and duplicate an RF signal that actuates the vehicle's sensory alarm system so as to be able to selectively actuate the vehicle's sensory alarm system. In use, with the seat component placed under a child's seat, whenever the vehicle has been turned off, if a child is still on top of the seat component, the seat component will wirelessly actuate the vehicle sensory alarm system after a predetermined period of time.
CHILD CAR SEAT SAFETY ELECTRICAL ALARM SWITCH ASSEMBLY
This Child Car Seat Safety Electrical Alarm Switch Assembly was invented to eliminate a very serious problem that we have worldwide. The problem is that Drivers of Vehicles from time to time have the need to transport small Children in a Car Seat that is strapped into the Vehicle. Too often when some Drivers exit the Vehicles they forget that the Child is left in the Car Seat. Subsequently, when the Driver realizes that the Child was left in the Car Seat, it is often too late to save the life of the Child. Usually, the windows in the Car or Vehicle are closed tightly. When the Temperature is elevated, it gets extremely hot in the Vehicle. Therefore, the Child dies from Heat Exhaustion. When it is extremely cold, however, the opposite occurs and the Child dies from freezing to death. This invention prevents either of these from happening, since it alerts the Drivers that the child is in the Car each time he or she opens the Car Door. This Alarm System activates, even, while the Ignition Switch is in the Off Position. So, this leaves no occasion for the Driver to claim that he did not know that the Child was left in the Car Seat or that he forgot. The Alarm System is equipped with a Red Warning Light on the Dashboard which can clearly be seen when the Door opens and the Child is in the Car Seat. If one does not hear the Alarm Switch, he certainly will be able to see the Bright Red Light. Therefore, he will know that it is required to remove the Child from the Child Seat in the Vehicle before leaving the premises of the Vehicle. This, then, saves the life of the Child.
Vehicle occupancy indication safety system
A vehicular safety system includes a vehicle that has a plurality of seat belts, an alarm and an ignition. Each of the seat belts is operationally coupled to the alarm and the ignition. A car seat is provided that has a belt and a clasp. The car seat is removably positioned within the vehicle. A conductor is coupled to the car seat and the conductor is selectively electrically coupled between the clasp and one of the seat belts when the car seat is occupied. Thus, the alarm detects when the conductor is operationally coupled to the buckle. The alarm generates an alarm sequence when the ignition is turned off and the conductor is electrically coupled between the clasp and the buckle. The alarm sequence includes an audible alarm such that the alarm may inhibit an occupant from being inadvertently left in the vehicle. A switch is positioned within the vehicle such that the may be manipulated. The switch is electrically coupled to the alarm and the switch de-actuates the alarm when the switch is manipulated.
Unattended child detection system and method
A pressure-sensitive pad is installed either between a child car seat and the vehicle seat OR between the child and the child car seat that communicates with an alerting system. This pad includes a pressure sensor, a battery, a stored program computing system having a processor executing instructions from a, and communications system compatible with the alerting system. The alerting system is a wireless system that both measures a proximity of the responsible party to the pressure pad and issues an indication (e.g., one or more of an audio, visual, haptic, vibratory, and the like signal(s)) that a proximity (e.g., local geo-fence around the pad) distance has been exceeded AND that the child remains in the child seat. The alerting system may be installed in an alert system that is part of a portable electronic device (e.g., smartphone) or a special module (e.g., key fob).
