Cover adaptable to multiple vehicle seat configurations
A cover for a vehicle may include a lower portion sized and configured to extend over a horizontally-oriented top of a bench of a vehicle seat. The cover may also include an upper portion coupled to the lower portion. The upper portion may be sized and configured to extend upwardly over a backrest of the vehicle seat. The upper portion may include a first section, a second section, and a third section. Each of the first section, the second section, and the third section may extend from an upper edge of the upper portion to the lower portion. The cover may include a first coupling mechanism and a second coupling mechanism. The first coupling mechanism may be configured to couple the first section to the second section. The second coupling mechanism may be configured to couple the second section and the third section.
Thigh support providing full height auxiliary firmness for an unoccupied and unfolded, fold flat, air suspended seat
A vehicle seating assembly comprises a seat having a plurality of air chambers disposed between a seat support and an elastomeric foam layer. The air chambers further comprise a primary chamber in fluid communication with a main chamber, and a secondary chamber in fluid communication with a supplemental chamber, wherein air is displaced from the main chamber to the primary chamber and air is displaced from the secondary chamber to the supplemental chamber when the lower seat is in a loaded condition. Air is displaced from the primary chamber to the main chamber and air is displaced from the supplemental chamber to the secondary chamber when the lower seat is in an unloaded condition.
VEHICLE SEAT
A vehicle seat includes a seatback configured to be tiltable in a front-rear direction; and a flexible covering configured to extend from the seatback to a deck board positioned behind the seatback. The covering includes a shaped portion that is provided in an intermediate location in a length direction of the extending covering, and is shaped so as to facilitate bending of the covering toward a region below the deck board, and a reinforcing portion that increases rigidity of a region away from the shaped portion so as to facilitate transmission of elastic force to the shaped portion, the elastic force being generated at a time when the covering bends due to a change in a separation distance between both end portions of the extending covering in the length direction in response to tilting of the seatback.
Seating assembly with displaceable panel
A seating assembly is provided that includes a seating assembly frame that includes a seatback frame, and a seat frame. The seating assembly further includes a seatback panel coupled to an upper portion of the seatback frame and movable between a stored position relative to the seatback frame and an extended position relative to the seatback frame, and an adjustment mechanism coupled to the seatback panel and the seating assembly frame and movable between a first position and a second position in response to an actuating force.
AIR-SUSPENDED SEAT SURFACES WITH FLOW CONTROL VALVES
A vehicle seat includes a cushion having a compressible edge bladder and a compressible inflation bladder positioned aft of the edge bladder. An inflation line fluidically connects the edge bladder and the inflation bladder, and a check valve therein is openable toward the edge bladder under a fluid pressure from the inflation bladder. A deflation line with a dump valve therein further fluidically connects the edge bladder and the inflation bladder.
CARGO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM INCLUDING A VEHICLE LOAD FLOOR HAVING A CELLULOSE-BASED CORE AND MADE BY A COMPOSITE, COMPRESSION MOLDING PROCESS AND HAVING A WOOD GRAIN FINISH
A cargo management system including a vehicle load floor having a cellulose-based core to compartmentalize a cargo area of the vehicle into an upper compartment and a covered lower compartment is provided. The floor has a wood grain finish. The load floor includes a compression-molded composite panel that includes first and second outer layers of fiber-reinforced thermoplastic material, first and second sheets of thermoplastic adhesive and a core of cellulose-based material and positioned between the outer layers. The core has a large number of cavities. The outer layers are bonded to the core by the first and second sheets and by press molding. The first outer layer having a top surface on which a multi-layer sheet is bonded by the press molding. The multi-layer sheet has a substantially planar upper support surface to support cargo in the upper compartment and to provide the load floor with the wood grain finish.
Air-suspended seat surfaces for folding vehicle seats
A vehicle seat includes a seatback having a coverstock defining a seat surface with a flexible lower region and a flexible upper region. The seatback further has a compressible upper bladder beneath the coverstock upper region and a compressible inflation bladder positioned beneath the coverstock lower region and in fluidic communication with the upper bladder. A first fixed quantity of a flowable medium is contained in and is partially transferrable between the upper bladder and the inflation bladder.
Vehicle seat
A vehicle seat: wherein a reinforcing member includes, a first section attached to a back surface of a seat back so as to face the back surface of the seat back when the seat back is in a standing state and configured to follow the seat back when the seat back is tilted from the standing state, a second section disposed so as to face a back surface of a seat cushion when the seat back is in the standing state, and a connection portion connecting the first section and the second section, and wherein the connection portion is configured to allow the first section to bend with respect to the second section in a rearward direction of the seat, and restrict the first section to bend with respect to the second section in a forward direction of the seat.
Assembly including a compression-molded, composite panel having a cellulose-based core and a hinged mounting flange
An assembly including a compression-molded, composite panel having first and second outer layers of fiber-reinforced thermoplastic material, first and second sheets of thermoplastic adhesive and a core of cellulose-based material is provided. The core has first and second portions positioned between the outer layers. The second outer layer is bonded to the core by the second sheet by press molding. The first outer layer includes a first portion bonded to the first portion of the core by the first sheet by press molding and a second portion bonded to the second portion of the core to form a mounting flange pivotally connected to the first portion of the first outer layer. A component is mounted to the flange to pivot with the flange. A living hinge allows the flange and the mounted component to pivot between different use positions relative to the first portion of the first outer layer.
