The present disclosure provides an awning including flexible solar cells, a method of manufacturing the same, and a recreational vehicle. The awning comprises a reel, a tarpaulin adapted to be wound on the reel, and a plurality of flexible solar cells integrated on at least one surface of the tarpaulin. The tarpaulin is capable of being in a retracted state or an extended state. When the tarpaulin is in the extended state, the plurality of flexible solar cells have a first photoelectric conversion area exposed to the external environment, and when the tarpaulin is in the retracted state, the plurality of flexible solar cells have a second photoelectric conversion area exposed to the external environment. The area of the first photoelectric conversion area is greater than the area of the second photoelectric conversion area.

The awning mechanism includes a reel internally hollowed, and further includes at least one main shaft horizontally located in the reel, a torsional spring body and a locking assembly. The locking assembly includes a supporting arm rotatably connected to the main shaft. One end of the main shaft sequentially extends out of the reel and a surface of the supporting arm and is capable of being locked to the supporting arm by means of a locking member. The other end of the main shaft is rotatably connected to the reel. According to the disclosure, operation is simple and convenient, a torsion force of a torsional spring can be rapidly adjusted, and security and reliability of the entire mechanism can be improved while manufacturing cost of enterprises is reduced.

The motor controller includes a microprocessor control unit that uses a PWM control signal to linearly increase the current to the drive motor to achieve a soft start for the motor and reduce the risk of an overcurrent condition. The motor controller is configured to be added to an existing awning switch to easily increase the operating speed of an existing awning drive motor. The motor controller includes a housing with a flange that rests on the lower ledge of the switch opening formed in the outer wall of the RV.

Extended length rails can enable offset mounting of awning panels and/or mounting of extended width awning panels. Shade panes can extend downward from the front and/or side edges of the awning panel.
