Device and method for securing cargo

A device and method for securing cargo to vertical logistics posts on a side of a transportation vehicle. The device comprises a rail with a plurality of slots, an adjustable slide for adjusting the overall horizontal length of the device to fit between irregularly spaced gaps of parallel vertical logistics posts, and clips that are inserted and removably retained in corresponding receiving spaces of vertical logistics posts. Cargo is secured to the device through the slots on the rail. The device provides ease of relocation and adjustment for irregular gaps between vertical logistics posts.

UTILIZING A MULTI-TRACK CARGO HANDLING ASSEMBLY ON AN AMPHIBIOUS AIR-CUSHION VEHICLE

Techniques involve utilizing a multi-track cargo handling assembly to guide individual cargo items in parallel tracks to an aft end of a deck of an amphibious air cushion vehicle when unloading from the aft end. Such a multi-track cargo handling assembly includes a framework constructed and arranged to couple with the deck of the amphibious air cushion vehicle, and a set of guide rails coupled with the framework. The set of guide rails defines the parallel tracks and is constructed and arranged to constrain movement of the cargo items along the parallel tracks.

VEHICLE CARGO BED STRUCTURE

A vehicle cargo bed structure includes a tailgate and a tailgate gap cover. The tailgate gap cover has a first attachment structure fixedly attached to a bed floor of the vehicle cargo bed structure, a second attachment structure fixedly attached to the bed floor at a location spaced apart from the first attachment structure, and a biasing structure. The tailgate gap cover is pivotal between a horizontal orientation with the tailgate in an open position, and an upright orientation with the tailgate in a closed position. The tailgate gap cover covers a gap between the tailgate and the bed floor with the tailgate in the open position. The biasing structure extends from the first attachment structure to the second attachment structure and biases the tailgate gap cover into contact with the tailgate in both the horizontal orientation and the upright orientation.

A protective rail for a trailer is formed of an extension or ridge projecting outwardly from a wall of the trailer and extending along at least a part of a length of the wall. The protective rail is provided with tie-down anchors for coupling with tie-downs having couplers such as rings, eyes, or loops. The anchors may tongues formed in the protective rail when the protective rail is cut-out at selected locations along the protective rail. The anchors may be sized and shaped such that the surrounding portion of the protective rail prevents or tends to prevent other trailers or objects contacting the protective rail from damaging or becoming caught on the anchors.
