Method And System For Secure Wheelchair Use In Demand Response Transportation Systems

There is a system for secure use of a wheelchair in demand response transportation systems comprising a wheelchair restraint comprising a central housing, and a wheelchair strap, extending from the central housing, to secure the wheelchair restraint to the wheelchair, and a wheelchair strap sensor configured to provide a wheelchair strap sensor signal indicating whether the wheelchair strap is securely connected to a wheelchair via the wheelchair strap.

AUTOMATED WIRELESS SECUREMENT-MONITORING AND FEEDBACK SYSTEM

Methods and systems for receiving, by a destination device at which a securement-monitoring application is operating, from a securement sensor device, a securement-condition communication indicating a condition of a securement remote to the destination device. Operations also include determining, by the destination device using the securement-monitoring application, an action to take responsive to the securement-condition communication, such as notifying a user of an undesired condition at the securement. The operations further include initiating the action determined.

Variable stiffness compression apparatus, systems and methods of using the same

The present invention comprises an apparatus for use in line with a chain or a strap tie-down assembly. When the chain or strap tie-down assembly is tightened on a commodity to prevent movement of the same during shipping, the apparatus compresses and stretches. During transport, if the commodity loosens and creates slack in the chain or tie-down assembly, the apparatus may decompress and shorten, thereby taking up the slack and maintaining tension in the chain or tie-down assembly to prevent or minimize loosening and damage of the commodity.

Stretch-Band Fixings

A stretch band fixing may include a first cable tie formed of a non-elastic material, a second cable tie formed of the non-elastic material, and a tension device formed of an elastic material. The first cable tie includes a first head including a first pawl mechanism and a first elongated strap having a plurality of first serrations. The second cable tie includes a second head including a second pawl mechanism and a second elongated strap having a plurality of second serrations. The tension device connects the first head to the second head and includes a first overmold portion overmolded onto at least a portion of the first cable tie to form a first mechanical interlock and a second overmold portion overmolded onto at least a portion of the second cable tie to form a second mechanical interlock.

Cargo strap tensioning and monitoring system

A cargo strap monitoring system for real-time detection and reporting of cargo strap failure is provided. The cargo strap monitoring system may be a detector in the form of a cylinder that fits a winch slot. The cylinder provides a housing for circuitry operably linked to a pressure sensor. During normal operation a cargo strap is wrapped around and deployed from the spindle. The pressure sensor detects unsafe tension in the cargo strap. The circuitry includes a transceiver and a processor. Upon detection of an unsafe tension condition the transceiver transmits a warning to a remote monitor which may be located in a driver's truck cab. The remote monitor can be a mobile terminal such as a smart phone. The spindle with a slot and circuitry including the pressure sensor can be sold as a kit suitable for retrofitting to cargo strap winches.

Tension measuring assembly

A tension measuring assembly includes a pair of straps that has an attachment that can be attached to a tie down chain which is securing cargo on a flatbed trailer. A tension meter is provided and each of the pair of straps is attached to the tension meter. The tension meter measures tension in each of the straps to measure the tension in the tie down chain when the straps are attached to the tie down chain. A display unit is in remote communication with the tension meter and the display unit displays the tension measured by the tension meter. In this way the display unit facilitates a driver of the vehicle to monitor the tension of the tie down chain.

Force Measuring Device for Binding Belt

A force measuring device for a binding belt includes a force measuring body and a pressure sensor mounted on the force measuring body, the force measuring body is provided with two belt mounting grooves, the pressure sensor is provided between the two belt mounting grooves, the binding belt passes through the two belt mounting grooves, and the binding belt is pressed on the pressure sensor with the two belt mounting grooves as two fulcrums of the binding belt. The force measuring device for the binding belt can conveniently detect the tensioning force of the binding belt, and after binding is completed, it is ensured that the binding belt is in a tightened state to prevent goods from scattering due to loosening of the binding belt, which is conducive to ensuring safe transportation of the goods.

Cargo strap with load status transmitter

A strap system comprising a first strap extending between a first end and a second end. The first end is connected to a first attachment mechanism. The strap system further comprises a second strap extending between a third end and a fourth end. The fourth end is connected to a second attachment mechanism. The strap system comprises a load transmission device connected to the second end of the first strap and to the third end of the second strap. The load transmission device is arranged to transmit a signal in response to a tension force in the first and second straps falling below a threshold force.
