RATCHETLESS TIE-DOWN ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED METHODS
Tie-down assemblies and methods of their use are provided. In one embodiment, a tie-down assembly may include a buckle, a first strap, and a second strap. The buckle may include a frame, a handle pivotably attached to the frame and configured to pivot about a first axis between an open position and a closed position, and a drum rotatably attached to the handle and configured to rotate about a second axis, wherein the second axis is spaced apart from and extends parallel to the first axis. The first strap may be attached to the frame, and the second strap may be configured to removably attach to the drum.
Protector assembly for flexible pipe coils and method of using same
A system includes a coil contacting base. The coil contacting base includes a radially curved outer surface with a radius of curvature less than or equal to a coil radius of curvature of an interior channel of a coil of spoolable pipe, and the coil contacting base includes a length greater than or equal to an axial dimension of the coil. The system also includes a side wall coupled to an inner surface of the coil contacting base. The side wall is configured to block circumferential movement of a coil restraint. The system also includes a passage disposed between the coil contacting base and the side wall. The coil restraint is configured to be disposed in the passage.
Load securing system
A load securing system for transporting a coil includes a coil that may be transported on a trailer. The coil has top side, an outwardly facing side and a central aperture. The central aperture has a bounding surface. A plurality of securing units is provided and hingedly coupled together such that the plurality of securing units forms a circle. Each of the securing units is selectively positioned on the coil when the coil is transported to protect the coil from impact damage. A chain plurality of chains is each extended over an associated one of the securing units to secure the coil to the trailer. Each of the securing units is comprised of a rigid material to inhibit the chains from damaging the coil.
Tie down strap with strap loop for preventing disengagement while securing cargo
A strap assembly device is used to maintain engagement between the strap and the strap anchor point. The strap assembly device works by creating a loop to prevent the fastening hook on the strap from slipping. The strap assembly device is looped through a strap anchor point and the fastening hook is engaged to the anchor point. A portion of the strap extends beyond the fastening hook through the anchor point. The strap creates a loop by using a fastening system. The fastening system is generated by a male and female portion being joined. Either the male or female portion of the fastening system is located on the medial portion of the strap (portion before the hook). The other portion of the fastening system, male or female, is located on the lateral portion of the strap (portion extending beyond the hook). Once the fastening hook is engaged with the strap anchor point on the vehicle, the male and female portions of the fastening systems are joined. This union of the male and female fastening systems disallows the fastening hook from becoming disengaged from the strap anchor point.
TIE DOWN RATCHET AND STRAP
A tie down ratchet and strap includes, a ratchet shaft rotatably mounted in a ratchet body having a slot for receiving a wind-up strap therethough, a pair of ratchet wheels mounted on the ratchet shaft, a ratchet handle with a pawl engaging the ratchet wheels to rotate the ratchet shaft, a locking bar securing the ratchet wheels and ratchet shaft in position when the pawl is disengaged from the ratchet wheels, an anchor strap with a connector for securing the ratchet assembly to a first anchor point, and a wind-up strap including a non-metallic fabric strap with a braided metal outer cover extending continuously over the length of the non-metallic fabric strap.
Load securement block
A load securement block includes a rectangular central block and two (2) rhomboid side blocks integral to opposite lengthwise sides of the central block and positioned in mirror image to each other. The block is made of closed cell high density foam. The block is configured to provide a protective and deformable barrier between a cargo strap and a cargo load being secured in place by the cargo strap. Alternate embodiments having different geometries are also disclosed.
Method for securing cargo boxes upon the bed of a pickup truck device for securing cargo boxes upon the bed of a pickup truck
A method for securing cargo boxes upon the bed of a pickup truck includes the steps of securing cargo rings to a structural portion of each inner side wall of the pickup truck; determining the distance separating adjacent cargo rings on each inner side wall; providing at least two strap members each having a longitudinal dimension greater than the distance separating cargo rings on a respective inner side wall, each of the two strap members having first and second portions, each portion having a hook end with a connecting hook secured thereto, the first portion having a cam buckle end integrally secured to a cam buckle, the second portion having a cam buckle end slidably secured to the cam buckle, resulting in the hook ends of each strap member being detachably secured to a respective cargo ring; whereby, cross straps detachably secured to strap rings secured to the strap members ultimately secure cargo boxes upon the bed of the pickup truck, and a tensile force vector imparted upon each strap member and extending parallel to the inner side walls of the pickup trick is reduced, thereby reducing the force urging together the cargo rings on each respective side wall of the pickup truck.
ATTACHMENT FOR FACILITATING SECURING OF A LOAD WITH A STRAP, ROPE OR THE LIKE
There is disclosed an attachment for facilitating positioning of a pliable or flexible line such that said line extends over at least one object, the attachment being removably attachable to a free end of said line and being able, when so attached, to be thrown so as to carry the end over the object(s) whereby said positioning is effected.
Strap fairing
Embodiments of a fairing of the present invention generally include a pair of fins that intersect at a first closed end thereof forming a V-shaped/pointed frontal geometry and are connectable at a second end thereof via a fin connection assembly, wherein the fairing is adapted and configured to be engaged about at least a portion of a tie-down strap that is securing a cargo object to a cargo support structure, wherein the first closed end is directionally oriented such that air flow resulting from transportation of the cargo object impinges thereupon, and wherein the first closed end geometry is adapted and configured to shield the tie-down strap from excessive vibration during transportation of the cargo object. Embodiments of a method of using embodiments of fairings of the present invention are also provided.
