Lighting device for vehicle
A lighting device to be mounted on a vehicle has a light source, a projection lens having an optical axis, and disposed so as to allow at least some of light emitted from the light source to pass therethrough, a holder that holds the projection lens, a pivot shaft provided at one of the projection lens and the holder and extending in a direction intersecting with the optical axis of the projection lens, a bearing provided at the other of the projection lens and the holder and that holds the pivot shaft, an aiming mechanism configured to pivot the projection lens relative to the holder about the pivot shaft, and a reflector configured to reflect the light emitted from the light source in a predetermined direction. The reflector is provided in the holder. The position of the holder to the light source is fixed.
Shock-absorbing vehicle headlight system
Shock-absorbing vehicle headlight system, having a vehicle frame element, a vehicle headlight housing, two release elements and a release mechanism connected to the vehicle frame element and designed to transition the vehicle headlight housing between a basic position and an adjustment position. The release mechanism includes a blocking element, switchable between a blocking position (BP) and a release position (RP). The vehicle headlight housing is held in the basic position in the BP and transitions to the adjustment position in the RP. A force transmission device mechanically couples the blocking element to the release elements and includes a rotary shaft and a control element. Displacement of each release element can be converted into rotary movement of the rotary shaft, which in turn can be converted into rotary movement of the control element, which is operatively connected to the blocking element in order to push the blocking element into the RP.
Light module fastening assembly having a snap wedge assembly with ball stud and insert
A snap wedge assembly is provided that includes a ball stud having a ball end configured for engagement with a light module, and an insert coupled with the ball stud, the insert comprising an insert first end and an insert second end, a plurality of wedges, each having wedge side surfaces and a wedge top surface that extend longitudinally from the insert first end towards the insert second end, wherein the wedge top surface tapers outward as it extends towards the ball end, and a plurality of snap fingers, the snap fingers each including an elongated flexible portion and a latching portion.
Loose layered build components and vehicle front end assembly strategy
A method of assembling vehicle front end components to a vehicle front end includes the steps of attaching at least one non-skin component to the body, supporting a first skin component using at least one of the at least one non-skin component such that the first skin component is moveable relative the at least one non-skin component, joining a second skin component to the first skin component such that the first skin component and the second skin component are fixed relative one another and moveable relative the at least one non-skin component, and restricting movement of the second skin component relative the at least one non-skin component.
Vehicle lamp assembly
A vehicle lamp assembly is provided herein. The lamp assembly includes a housing including one or more light sources therein. The housing is configured to couple with a backing plate. A first electrical connector is disposed on the housing. A second electrical connector is attached to the backing plate and is coupled with a vehicle power source. The first electrical connector is coupled with the second electrical connector as the housing is inserted into the backing plate.
Sealing pin and grommet fastener accommodating two directional offset
An inner housing defines a pin retaining receptacle elongated in an X-direction with entry ramps extending parallel to the X-direction. The inner housing is slidably coupled to an outer housing for movement in a Y-direction. The outer housing has an enclosed interior defined by outer housing walls extending from an outer housing flange. Resilient retention wings can extend outwardly from the outer housing walls without providing adjacent openings therethrough to facilitate water resistance. A water resistant seal is positionable between an outer housing flange and a first component to seal therebetween when the outer housing is coupled to the first component by the retention wings. Centering blades extend between the inner and outer housings to initially locate the pin retaining receptacle in a central position within the interior in a Y-direction and the centering blades are movable during insertion of the pin into the pin retaining receptacle.
Receiver assembly
A receiver assembly includes a housing supporting a receiver at least partially within the housing. The receiver includes interior walls forming a cavity accessible through a slot formed in a face of the receiver. First and second lugs extend from the receiver and opposing guide tracks extend from the housing for receiving at least portions of the first and second lugs and limiting movement of the receiver to a first axis within a first plane.
Locking position stud fastener for a vehicle lamp assembly
A locking position stud fastener is configured to position, lock, and securely hold a lamp assembly to a vehicle body. A method for installing a lamp assembly on to a vehicle body having at least one opening for receiving a fastener includes the steps of securing a first end of a stud to the lamp assembly, rotating the stud about its axis, passing the stud through the vehicle body opening, and then locking and securing the stud in the vehicle body.
LOOSE LAYERED BUILD COMPONENTS AND VEHICLE FRONT END ASSEMBLY STRATEGY
A headlight assembly for assembly adjacent at least one skin component of a vehicle includes a housing supporting at least one light and a lens attached to the housing. The lens includes at least one attribute for engaging the at least one skin component. The attribute may be a pin or an aperture formed in the lens which may extend a distance from a surface of the lens for guiding the skin component. The skin component may be a grille and the attribute may restrict movement of the headlight assembly relative the grille in a Y-axis direction forming a margin therebetween. The attribute may be a channel including a bracket for guiding the skin component, for instance, a facia into the channel. The attribute may be a cavity formed in the lens for receiving an overlapping portion of the skin component, for example, a grille.
LIGHTING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
