An exemplary positioning method for a vehicle component includes holding a flange of a fascia within a slot of a hook structure. The holding positions a portion of the fascia relative to a lamp assembly that includes the hook structure.
Headlamp fastening system for motor vehicles and method
A headlamp fastening system for a vehicle is provided herein. The headlamp fastening system includes a support structure, a headlamp structure, and an alignment element. The alignment element is configured to align and fix the headlamp structure with the support structure with respect to the z-direction of the vehicle. The alignment element holds the sup port structure and the headlamp in an alignment position. In the alignment position the support structure and the headlamp structure are relatively displaceable in the x-, y-, and z-direction relative to one another. The alignment element fixes the support structure and the headlamp in the fixed position, wherein, upon the alignment element fixing the support structure and the headlamp structure relative to one another with respect to the z-direction, the support structure and the headlamp structure simultaneously become fixed relative to one another in the x- and y-direction.
ELEMENT FOR POSITIONING A COMPONENT IN SPACE
An adjustable positioning element (1) enabling a component (7) to be positioned and fastened in three dimensions is provided. The element comprises a bolt (2) with which the component (7) can be positioned in an axial direction (z) of the bolt (2), a hollow body (4) presenting an annular end wall through which the bolt passes, and a fastener element (5) with a washer (25) surrounding the bolt and arranged to be movable sideways against the end wall of the hollow body (4). The washer (25) is designed to be pressed against the end wall of the hollow body when the fastener element is attached to the bolt so as to fix the lateral (xy) position of the bolt (2) in the hollow body (4). The fastener element (5) and the bolt (2) are arranged to attach to each other by reversible snap-fastening.

For the improvement of a tolerance compensation between the attachment and the structural part during assembly, it is proposed that the apparatus is part of the structural part, while the attachment comprises at least one first reference point for the alignment of the attachment, wherein the first reference point is incorporated in the attachment by means of a gauge before the installation of the attachment.
