Interior prismatic mirror with integral toggle
An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror casing and a prismatic reflective element, with the mirror casing adjustably supported at a mirror mount at an interior surface of the vehicle. The mirror casing includes a principal mirror casing portion and a pivotable mirror casing portion that is pivotable relative to the principal mirror casing portion. A toggle assembly includes a toggle lever and a spring element disposed between and coupled to the toggle lever and the pivotable mirror casing portion of the mirror casing. Pivotal movement of the toggle lever flexes the spring element and adjusts the angle of the principal mirror casing portion and the prismatic reflective element relative to the pivotable mirror casing portion of the mirror casing.
EYE TRACKING-BASED DISPLAY CONTROL SYSTEM
An eye tracking-based display control system includes a main body accommodating a mirror; a first image capture device disposed on the main body and facing a first direction to capture a first image; a controller receiving and processing the first image; and a transparency controllable film disposed on an opposite side of the mirror against the main body. In response to a determination that a light source on the first image has brightness higher than a predetermined threshold, and a determination that a shift distance of eyes between an eye position and an initial position of a driver is not zero, the controller calibrates an original position of the light source according to the shift distance of the eyes and an initial coordinate system, thereby obtaining a calibrated position, according to which transparency of a local region of the transparency controllable film corresponding to the light source is changed.
Frameless interior rearview mirror assembly
A vehicular frameless interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head and a mounting portion. The mirror head includes a mirror reflective element and a mirror casing. The mirror reflective element includes a glass substrate having a planar front side and a planar rear side. No portion of the mirror casing overlaps the planar front side of the glass substrate of the mirror reflective element. A camera is disposed within the mirror casing. With the mounting portion of the mirror assembly mounted at an in-cabin side of a windshield of a vehicle, the camera views a driver of the vehicle, and when the mirror head is moved by the driver of the vehicle to adjust the rearward view provided by the mirror reflective element to the driver, the camera moves in tandem with movement of the mirror head. The camera is part of a driver monitoring system of the vehicle.
Mirror flipper assembly
A rearview mirror for a vehicle includes a housing defining an interior cavity and an actuation mechanism. The actuation mechanism includes a mounting plate rotatably coupled within the cavity of the housing at a first end thereof and a spring plate coupled with the mounting plate at a first coupling and slidably coupled with the mounting plate at a second coupling. The spring plate defines a resiliently deformable spring portion positioned between the first and second couplings and an arm portion extending away from the second coupling opposite the spring portion. The actuation mechanism further includes a toggle barrel positioned within the interior cavity of the housing and rotatable between first and second positions to compress the spring portion of the spring plate by movement of the arm portion by sliding of the spring plate with respect to the second coupling.
Toggle switch lock and cushioned toggle switch for FDM
A rearview mirror includes a housing defining an interior cavity and an opening to an exterior of the housing, a notch extending from an edge of the opening and an actuation mechanism coupled within the interior of the housing. The actuation mechanism has a toggle barrel rotatably positioned within the interior cavity of the housing and a lever extending from the toggle barrel through the opening. The lever defines a first major surface and includes a locking rib extending from the first major surface adjacent the barrel. The lever and toggle barrel are rotatable between a first position and a second position, the locking rib being positioned within the notch of the housing when the lever and the toggle barrel are in the first position and being positioned away from the notch when the lever and the toggle barrel are in the second position.
Rearview mirror assembly for vehicle
A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflective element having a glass substrate with a planar front surface and a circumferential edge along the periphery of the glass substrate. A mounting element is disposed at the rear of the mirror reflective element and includes a pivot element that is configured to pivotally mount the mirror reflective element at the vehicle. A plastic molding receives the mirror reflective element therein such that a portion of the plastic molding is circumferentially disposed about the circumferential edge of the glass substrate without overlapping onto the front surface of the glass substrate. The portion of the plastic molding provides a curved rounded transition from the front surface of the glass substrate to a side surface of the plastic molding. The plastic molding includes at least a portion of a mirror housing of the interior rearview mirror assembly.
Moveable rear view mirror comprising active material
A rear view mirror for use in a motor vehicle includes a support element having a reflective element attached to a first side; and a frame element detachably attached to a second side of the support element which is located opposite the first side. The frame element includes an adjusting element that is adapted to connect the rear view mirror to a stationary support arm holding the rear view minor. The frame element is adapted to move the rear view minor relative to the stationary support arm and comprises active material to move the rear view mirror.
VEHICULAR REARVIEW MIRROR
A vehicular rearview mirror device includes a housing, a mirror, a camshaft, a fixed part, and a drive part. As the camshaft is rotated by a driving force transmitted from the drive part, and moves toward the fixed part by the action of a cam, a movable part including the housing, the mirror, and the drive part as a whole tilts. The drive part includes a drive source, and a gear train transmitting the driving force of the drive source to the camshaft. The gear train includes a first gear disposed to the camshaft, and a second gear that elastically meshes with the first gear.
INTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE
A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror casing and an electro-optic mirror reflective element. The front glass substrate of the reflective element has a planar first surface, a planar second surface and a periphery surface extending therebetween. The mirror casing includes a central mounting element and two spaced apart attachment surfaces. The rear glass substrate of the reflective element is adhesively attached at the attachment surfaces. The central mounting element includes a pivot element that pivotally mounts at a mounting structure. A central cavity exists between the central mounting element and the rear glass substrate. The mirror assembly includes a curved outer surface that provides a rounded transition between the planar first surface of the front glass substrate and a less-curved outer surface of a side all of the mirror casing. No part of the mirror casing encroaches onto the planar first surface of the front glass substrate.
