An example method includes detecting a potential threat to a vehicle that is external to the vehicle, determining a severity level of the potential threat and a location of the potential threat relative to the vehicle, and displaying an indication of the potential threat on an electronic display in a particular portion of the electronic display corresponding to the location and with a particular display attribute corresponding to the severity level. The particular portion is one of a plurality of different portions of the electronic display each corresponding to different threat locations, and the particular display attribute is one of a plurality of different display attributes corresponding to different severity levels. A corresponding system that detects and displays notifications of potential threats is also disclosed.

A calibration arrangement comprises a floor space configured to form a parking area for a vehicle, and a calibration pattern visible on the floor surrounding the floor space. A first portion of the calibration pattern is arranged on a first side of the floor space, and a second portion of the calibration pattern is arranged on a second side of the floor space, opposite the first side. Each of the first portion and the second portion of the calibration pattern comprises a plurality of identical first sub-patterns and a second sub-pattern different from the first sub-patterns. The processor may calculate location information of a light source for at least one of the first camera or the vehicle by using coordinates of a shadow object of the vehicle, which is recognized from the vehicle periphery image, and coordinates of the vehicle, and may determine whether the backlight is present, by comparing location information of the light source with the optical property information.
