The wiper blade 5 operates at error angles different in direction between during a forward-path wiping operation and during a return-path wiping operation. When the wiper blade 5 reaches a reversing position, the brushless motor 2 is made to rotate about an axis extending in a extending direction of the wiper blade 5 to change the error angle .
