Illumination for detecting raindrops on a pane by means of a camera
A device for detecting rain on a pane includes a camera (1) and an electrically drivable film (3) that actively emits light (h) as a light sheet (s). The camera and the film are arranged so that the camera can detect an image (i1, i2) of the light sheet that impinges on and is reflected by the pane. The signal detected by the camera correlates with light that has been emitted by the film, and reflected or scattered by the inner face (2.1) or outer face (2.2) of the pane and/or by a raindrop on the outer face of the pane.
CONTROL FOR PASSIVE WIPER SYSTEM
A system includes a dome, a wiper assembly, a position sensor and a control device. The wiper assembly includes a wiper blade configured to rotate around the dome. The position sensor may be configured to send a signal to a control device when a wiper blade passes the position sensor. The control device may include one or more processors configured to receive the signal from the position sensor and determine a location of the wiper blade relative to the dome based on the received signal.

VISIBILITY OBSTRUCTION DETECTION FOR A VEHICLE
A vehicle includes a window separating a compartment of the vehicle from a region external to the vehicle. The window includes an outer surface. An imaging device is in the compartment and configured to capture an image of the region external to the vehicle through the window. Control circuitry is in communication with the imaging device and configured to receive the image from the imaging device, detect an obstruction in the image data corresponding to a substance on the window, and generate an output in response to the detection of the obstruction, wherein the imaging device is disposed within 50 millimeters (mm) from the window.
Autonomous vehicle operation in snow
Upon detecting an accumulation of snow on a driving surface, a driving path from a first location to a second location is identified. A vehicle is operated from the first location to the second location and then to a third location that is identical to or proximate to the first location.
Method for the activation of a windscreen wiper motor
A method for the activation of a windscreen wiper motor is disclosed, in which the motor is connected to a wiper blade by a drive shaft, which moves the wiper blade between two reversal points of a wiping field in differing movement direction, where the rotation speed and direction of the motor, or the speed of the wiper blade, is detected by a sensor device and is supplied to a control device as an input value. The motor, before reaching the respective reversal point, is switched off, whereupon the drive shaft continues to rotate further by a castor angle up to a standstill, and the wiper blade moves further by a trailing distance. The actual speed of the wiper blade is compared at the switch-off time with a nominal speed, and the motor is operated further for a period of time when the comparison results in a difference in values.

Wiper device
A wiper device is provided that suppresses plastic deformation of a blade rubber of a wiper blade without wasting power of a battery installed to a vehicle. A wiper device is equipped with wiper blades that wipe a vehicle front glass, a wiper motor that swings the wiper blades in alternating between an upper turn position and a lower turn position by accompanied rotation of the output shaft, and a control unit that controls the wiper motor. In a case of the vehicle ignition switch being ON or OFF, the control unit controls the wiper motor such that from a stopped position where the wiper blades are located, the wiper blades are swung in a specific range of between a first stopping position and a second stopping position, and then stopped.
