Methods of operating a rear wiper system and a full display mirror system of a vehicle

A method of operating a rear wiper system of a vehicle that includes monitoring an operational status of a full display mirror system of the vehicle, and automatically activating the rear wiper system when the full display mirror system is switched from an active mode to an inactive mode.

ALTERNATIVE WIPER MECHANISM TO REMOVE RAINWATER ON A SENSOR ENCLOSURE

A sensor enclosure comprising a domed cover and a base. The base can be encased by the domed cover. The base comprises an inner frame, an outer frame, one or more wipers, and a powertrain. The inner frame can provide surfaces for one or more sensors. The outer frame, disposed underneath the inner frame, the outer frame includes a slewing ring. The slewing ring comprises an inner ring to which the domed cover is attached and an outer ring attached to the outer frame. The one or more wipers extends vertically from the outer frame, each wiper having a first end attached to the outer frame and a second end attached to a support ring, and each wiper making a contact with the dome cover. The powertrain, disposed within the outer frame, configured to rotate the ring and the dome cover attached to the inner ring.

RAINDROP DETECTION DEVICE

A raindrop detection device includes: a front monitoring camera for photographing a front of a vehicle through a windshield of the vehicle; a raindrop detection camera for photographing a raindrop adhering to the windshield; and an electronic control unit disposed away from the windshield, the front monitoring camera, and the raindrop detection camera, performing an image processing on an image data of a front image from the front monitoring camera, and performing an image processing on an image data of a windshield image from the raindrop detection camera.

WIPER DRIVE DEVICE

A wiping device for an optical device with a lens includes a surface, such as a curved or calotte-shaped surface, where the wiping device has a wiping element for wiping the surface of the lens free from water and dirt particles with at least one passage channel and at least one outlet channel which branches off from the passage channel in order to guide cleaning fluid onto the surface of the lens. In addition, a rear view device for a motor vehicle with an optical device includes such a wiping device.

Automated vehicle windshield wiper systems for minimizing the buildup of frozen precipitation

Vehicle windshield wiper systems and methods are disclosed for controlling windshield wipers in a manner that reduces the buildup of frozen precipitation on the vehicle windshield. In exemplary embodiments, a windshield wiper can be automatically commanded to wipe a windshield at a pre-calculated wiping interval rate when precipitation is detected on a vehicle surface, a vehicle ambient temperature is below a predefined ambient temperature threshold, and a vehicle interior temperature exceeds a predefined interior temperature threshold.
