VEHICLE SENSOR CLEANING SYSTEM
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for cleaning one or more sensors of an autonomous vehicle (AV) system. For example, the system includes a tank to store a solvent. A heat exchanger is disposed in the tank to transfer heat from a heated fluid to the solvent. A first actuator is provided to enable and disable fluid communication of the heated fluid from a coolant system to the heat exchanger. A nozzle is in fluid communication with the tank to spray the solvent on a sensor of an autonomous vehicle (AV) system to remove debris. A controller is programmed to control the first actuator to enable the fluid communication of the heated fluid to the heat exchanger to increase at least one of a temperature and a pressure of the solvent within the tank.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM STORING VEHICLE CONTROL PROGRAM
External sensors of a vehicle are individually set with sensing regions through external surfaces. Cleaning nozzles of the vehicle inject cleaning fluid to individually clean the external surfaces of the external sensors. An injection control unit performs classification of the cleaning nozzles, which correspond to the external surfaces whose sensing regions of the external sensors overlap with each other, into an injected nozzle, which performs injection of cleaning fluid and a stopped nozzle, which stops injection of cleaning fluid, and controls the classification according to a stain state of the external surface. A priority control unit controls a priority of cleaned sensor data, which is acquired through the external sensor whose external surface corresponds to the injected nozzle, to be lower than a priority of non-cleaned sensor data, which is acquired through the external sensor whose external surface corresponds to the stopped nozzle.
Cleaning device, vehicle and method for operating a cleaning device
A cleaning device for a vehicle provides a liquid cleaning pulse and/or a compressed-air cleaning pulse for at least one cleaning nozzle. The device has a cylinder and a separator that divides the cylinder volume in fluid-tight fashion into an air chamber and a liquid chamber. The separator is movable along a cylinder axis and bears sealingly against an internal wall of the cylinder. The air chamber has a port for admitting compressed air with a charge pressure for filling the chamber. The charge pressure acts on an air action surface of the separator to generate a displacement force on a liquid action surface, facing toward the liquid chamber, of the separator to generate a liquid pressure of the cleaning liquid in the liquid chamber. The cylinder is configured as a pressure booster. The liquid action surface is smaller than the air action surface facing toward the same.
Cleaning device, cleaning and sensor system for a vehicle, and vehicle, and method for cleaning a surface of a sensor
A cleaning device is for a vehicle. The cleaning device has at least one cleaning nozzle configured to apply a cleaning fluid to a surface to be cleaned of at least one sensor, a fluid supply unit, in particular a fluid valve or a pump, configured to selectively provide the cleaning fluid to the cleaning nozzle, and an actuator for generating a cleaning movement of the cleaning nozzle. It is provided in the cleaning device that the cleaning device has a switching unit for controlling the actuator, such that the cleaning movement can be generated independently of the fluid supply unit.
Cleaning apparatus, roof module and method for cleaning a viewing area of a motor vehicle
A cleaning apparatus for cleaning at least one viewing area of a motor vehicle, the cleaning apparatus may have at least one cleaning nozzle and an evaluation and control apparatus. The evaluation and control apparatus is configured to receive at least one sensor signal which comprises at least one piece of information on a motor vehicle environment condition and/or a motor vehicle parameter, to evaluate this information in order to determine an operation situation in this manner, to select a predetermined cleaning profile from a plurality of predefined cleaning profiles based on this information, and to control the at least one cleaning nozzle depending on the selected cleaning profile in order to clean the at least one viewing area.
IN-VEHICLE SENSOR CLEANING SYSTEM, METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An in-vehicle sensor cleaning system installed in a vehicle includes: a cleaning unit configured to automatically or manually perform cleaning of an in-vehicle sensor installed in the vehicle; a setting unit configured to set an automatic cleaning function to on and off, the automatic cleaning function causing the cleaning unit to automatically perform the cleaning of the in-vehicle sensor; and a notification unit configured to provide a notification about switching a setting of the automatic cleaning function, based on information on past cleaning of the in-vehicle sensor, when the automatic cleaning function is set to off by the setting unit.
Assembly for sensor cleaning with solenoid
An assembly includes an inlet tube and an outlet tube. The assembly includes a solenoid assembly having a plunger movable between an open position in which fluid is permitted to flow from the inlet tube to the outlet tube and a closed position in which fluid is inhibited from flowing from the inlet tube to the outlet tube. The solenoid assembly has a spring urging the plunger to the closed position. The assembly includes a first pressure sensor positioned to be compressed when the plunger is moved toward the open position. Pressure detected by the first pressure sensor indicates whether the plunger is at the open position. The assembly includes a second pressure sensor positioned to be compressed when the plunger is moved toward the closed position. Pressure detected by the second pressure sensor indicates whether the plunger is at the closed position.
Fluid system for vehicle sensor
A fluid system includes a one-way check valve including a check-valve inlet and a check-valve outlet; a Y-connector including a Y-connector inlet, a first Y-connector outlet, a second Y-connector outlet, and a pressure-sensor connector; an inlet hose fluidly connecting the check-valve outlet and the Y-connector inlet; and a pressure sensor fluidly connected to the Y-connector via the pressure-sensor connector. The Y-connector inlet, Y-connector outlets, and pressure-sensor connector are fluidly connected to each other inside the Y-connector.
Washer pump with a respiratory hole communicating a motor accommodating portion and an outside
A washer pump configured to suck liquid stored in a tank and configured to jet the liquid to a surface to be cleaned. The washer pump includes: a housing attached to the tank, an impeller rotatably provided in the housing, a motor rotating the impeller, a motor accommodating portion provided in the housing and accommodating the motor, a corner portion provided in the housing and disposed between the motor accommodating portion and the tank, and a respiratory hole provided between the motor accommodating portion and the corner portion. The respiratory hole communicating an inside of the motor accommodating portion with an outside thereof.
ENHANCED SENSOR CLEANING VALIDATION
Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced sensor cleaning validation. A device may receive a signal from a sensor indicative of an obstruction on the sensor. The device may activate a cleaning system at a degree of actuation responsive to the obstruction. The device may then obtain a first post-clean performance measurement of the sensor. The device may then adjust the degree of actuation of the cleaning system based on a degradation measurement between a baseline performance measurement associated with a clean performance baseline of the sensor and the first post-clean performance measurement.
