The cleaning unit is characterized in that the piston of the piston-cylinder unit is designed as an electromagnetically actuated piston, which can be actuated in a first direction under the action of an electromagnetic force directed along the cylinder axis, which first direction forms a compression direction.

The sensor pod system may include a cleaning system to clean sensing surfaces of sensor pods during operation. The sensor pod system may include sensors of different types and modalities. Sensor pods of the sensor pod system may be modularly installed on a vehicle, for example, an autonomous vehicle and collect and provide data of the environment during operation of the vehicle.

The filling port is hidden in the vehicle body when the filling tank is in the closed position, and when the filling tank is in the filling position, the filling port is accessible from outside the vehicle body, enabling refilling of liquid from the filling port. The connecting device connects the filling tank to the support seat so that the filling tank can be moved in a translational manner relative to the support seat. The connecting device includes a connecting channel that communicates the liquid outlet of the filling tank with the liquid storage tank in the vehicle body.

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for cleaning one or more sensors of an autonomous vehicle (AV) system. For example, the system includes a tank to store a solvent. A heat exchanger is disposed in the tank to transfer heat from a heated fluid to the solvent. A first actuator is provided to enable and disable fluid communication of the heated fluid from a coolant system to the heat exchanger. A nozzle is in fluid communication with the tank to spray the solvent on a sensor of an autonomous vehicle (AV) system to remove debris. A controller is programmed to control the first actuator to enable the fluid communication of the heated fluid to the heat exchanger to increase at least one of a temperature and a pressure of the solvent within the tank.
