VEHICLE PEDAL ARRANGEMENT

A vehicle pedal arrangement according to one embodiment includes a support, a rotating shaft, a pedal that is pivotable with respect to the rotating shaft, a retention member and actuating means. The pedal includes a retaining housing and an opening, such that under normal operating conditions the rotating shaft is arranged in the opening and the retention member is at least partially housed in the retaining housing supported against the rotating shaft, retaining the rotating shaft in the opening. In the event of a head-on collision, the actuating means moves the retention member such that the pedal is no longer retained against the rotating shaft.

ASSEMBLY COMPRISING BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER UNIT AND DASH PANEL

In an assembly comprising a brake master cylinder unit and a dash panel of a vehicle disclosed herein, the electric motor may be fixed to a body of the brake master cylinder unit such that a rotation axis of the electric motor extends along a vehicle-width direction. By fixing the electric motor such that the rotation axis extends along the vehicle-width direction, an overall height of the cylinder unit may be lowered. A position where the pushrod is fixed to the cylinder unit can be lowered, and a position of a pivot of the brake pedal (a connection point between the brake pedal and the dash panel) can also be lowered. As a result, the brake pedal (a pedal arm) can be shortened and weight(s) of part(s) related to the cylinder unit (the pedal arm) can be reduced.

Pedal assembly with a release mechanism

Embodiments described herein are directed to a pedal assembly. The pedal assembly includes a housing, a pedal arm, a retaining member, and a block. The pedal arm has an upper end. The upper end is pivotally coupled to the housing. The retaining member is slidably engaged within the housing. The retaining member has a first angled portion. A portion of the retaining member in communication with the upper end of the pedal arm. The block is slidably mounted within the housing and perpendicular to the first angled portion of the retaining member. The block has a second angled portion that is complimentary to the first angled portion. Upon an impact, the second angled portion slidably engages with the first angled portion, which causes the retaining member to move and release the upper end of the pedal arm from the housing.

Foldable accelerator pedal apparatus equipped with hysteresis module for vehicle

A foldable accelerator pedal apparatus is equipped with a hysteresis module for a vehicle. In a manual driving mode where a driver drives a vehicle with human input, a pedal pad protrudes from a pedal housing to be exposed toward the driver. In an autonomous traveling mode where the vehicle travels without any human input, the pedal pad retracts into the pedal housing so as not to be exposed toward the driver. When operating the pedal pad, hysteresis may be realized through the hysteresis module.

FORCE INPUT MEMBER FOR A BRAKE ACTUATING DEVICE

A force input member for a brake actuating device of a vehicle brake system includes at least one first portion connected to the brake actuating device; at least one second portion connected to a brake pedal; and at least one coupling device. The at least one coupling device couples the first portion and the second portion to one another wherein the at least one coupling device is designed to permit a relative movement between the first portion and the second portion in the case of a force acting on the force input element which is greater than or equal to a predetermined release force.

System and Method for Collision Prevention

A vehicle frontal illumination system includes a bracket attached to a front of a vehicle, where the bracket includes a light receiving surface that faces the front of the vehicle. The system also includes one or more lights attached to the light receiving surface of the bracket such that the one or more lights face the front of the vehicle. The system further includes a control system in communication with the light, where the control system is configured to turn the one or more lights on to illuminate the front of the vehicle to reduce the likelihood of an animal vehicle collision.

Automotive pedal release system

An automobile pedal release system that includes a housing having first and second side walls spaced apart by a cleft, where each side wall includes a pocket recessed into an inner surface such that the two pockets oppose one another; a brake pedal assembly having a pivot member disposed in the cleft and defining a pivot axis, first and second bushings, and a brake pedal arm rotatable about the pivot axis relative to the two bushings, where each busing is disposed in a first portion of one pocket and receives one of two ends of the pivot member; and a striker assembly having a striker and two plugs, the striker having an elongated body extending in the cleft between the side walls, where each plug is disposed in a second portion of one pocket and includes a bore that receives one of two ends of the striker.

Pedal unit for a motor vehicle

A pedal unit for a motor vehicle may include a multiplicity of cylinder elements which are guided one inside the other in a telescopic fashion along a movement axis, a pedal face for a user, one or more spring elements, and a sensor unit. The pedal face may be coupled to one of the cylinder elements. Each of the spring elements is configured to interact with two cylinder elements assigned thereto, as a result of which, when the pedal face is activated an opposing force can be generated at the pedal face, the opposing force depending progressively on movement travel of the pedal face. The sensor unit may be configured to generate an output signal that is dependent on activation of the pedal face.
