Steering device
A steering device includes: an inner tube including a steering wheel; a column housing that houses the tube retractably along an axis; a drive mechanism attached to the column housing in such a way as to cause the tube to perform a retraction operation via a drive member that reciprocates along the axis, a first impact absorption member that is provided on one of the drive member and the tube, and includes a deformation portion; and an action member that is provided on another of the drive member and the tube, and plastically deforms the deformation portion. The drive member, the first impact absorption member, and the action member are fixed by a single fixing member. When a predetermined pushing load acts on the tube, fixing between the first impact absorption member and the action member is released.

Energy absorbing strap assembly for a steering column
A steering column assembly includes an upper jacket. The steering column assembly also includes a lower jacket that the upper jacket is telescopingly coupled to. The steering column assembly further includes an energy absorbing strap operatively coupled to the upper jacket and the lower jacket, the energy absorbing strap having a first leg, a second leg and a U-shaped portion connecting the first leg and the second leg. The steering column assembly yet further includes a pin located within a slot defined by the first leg and the second leg of the energy absorbing strap.

STEERING COLUMN TELESCOPE ASSEMBLY AND ENERGY ABSORPTION DEVICE
An assembly for a steering column assembly including an engagement plate and a telescope plate at least partially disposed within the engagement plate. The engagement plate may be adapted to be located between a column tube of a steering column assembly and the telescope plate. The engagement plate and the telescope plate have one or more features for engaging with or contacting each other to provide energy absorption during an impact exceeding a threshold load. These features may include one or more projections or protrusions, one or more slots, one or more ribs, or a combination.

STEERING DEVICE
The steering device includes a steering shaft, a steering column, a bracket, and a fastening mechanism. The steering column includes a lower column and an upper column. The upper column includes a clamp, a cylindrical part, a pair of protrusions, and a reinforcement rib that extends across an outer peripheral surface of the clamp and an outer surface of one of the protrusions. The clamp includes a continuous clamp positioned near the cylindrical part and a spaced clamp spaced apart from the cylindrical part. The protrusions include a continuous protrusion that protrudes from the continuous clamp, and a spaced protrusion that protrudes from the spaced clamp. The reinforcement rib linearly extends from the spaced protrusion toward the continuous clamp.

STEERING DEVICE
A steering device includes a telescopic steering shaft that extends in a first direction, and a cylindrical outer steering column that rotatably supports the steering shaft. The steering column includes a lower column and an upper column having one end slidably attached to the lower column and the other end on which a bearing that supports the steering shaft is provided. The upper column includes a clamp that is externally slidably fitted to the lower column and that has a slit extending in the first direction, and a cylindrical part that has a cylindrical shape and that has one end continuous with the clamp and the other end blocked by the bearing being internally fitted. The cylindrical part has an air hole that is spaced apart from the one end of the cylindrical part and that penetrates an outer peripheral surface and an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical part.
