FOOD-GRADE COATED PARTICLES CONTAINING POLYCARBOXYLIC ACIDS
It relates to a food-grade coated particle comprising: a) a core that comprises a (C.sub.4-C.sub.12)polycarboxylic acid; and b) a coating that comprises: (i) an alkali metal salt of a (C.sub.4-C.sub.12)polycarboxylic acid wherein at least one carboxylic group of the (C.sub.4-C.sub.12)poly-carboxylic acid is in the acid form, and at least one carboxylic group of the (C.sub.4-C.sub.12)polycarboxylic acid is in the salt form, and (ii) a film-forming agent; wherein the weight ratio between (i) and (ii) is from 20:80 to 40:60. It also relates to processes for the preparation of these food-grade coated particles, to their use as food additives, as well as to foodstuffs comprising them.
EDIBLE CONFECTIONERY COATINGS INCLUDING CALCIUM CARBONATE
Edible coatings comprising scalenohedral calcium carbonate particles are provided. The scalenohedral calcium carbonate particles can act as a white pigment to impart white color properties to the edible coatings, or to opacify edible coatings to act as a substrate to subsequent layers containing colors.
Oral compositions
A chewable composition for teeth-whitening comprising a first region and a second region separated by a barrier layer; the first region comprising carbamide peroxide having water content of about 2% or less, a wetting agent (e.g., glycerin), an anhydrous chewing gum base having water content of about 1% or less, an anhydrous fruit acid, and one or more gum additives; and the second region comprising a chewable composition comprising a gum base, a source of bicarbonate ion, and one or more gum additives. A kit comprising separate chewable compositions corresponding to the first and second regions, and methods for whitening teeth using the chewable composition are also provided.

Dual structure crunchy gum pellet
A coated confectionery is provided including a confectionery core and a shell surrounding said confectionery core. The shell includes a soft coating including at least one layer of a first coating material and a hard coating including at least one layer of a second coating material. The soft coating forms at least 25% of a total weight of said shell.
Gum arabic replacements in: 1) panning, confections, adhesion & coatings; 2) edible films and flavor encapsulation; and 3) lithography
A method of preparing a gum arabic replacement, partial replacement or extending composition, for use in a variety of applications such as food, pharmaceutical and industrial applications is disclosed. In one embodiment, the invention is directed towards a method of preparing a gum arabic replacement, partial replacement or extending composition for use in panning, candy, coating and adhesion applications. The method includes selecting a strong (key) film former of natural and/or modified polysaccharides that comprises between approximately 0.1% and approximately 10% of the composition, or used at a level in the finished application equivalent to about 0.1 to 10% of what gum arabic would typically be used regardless of whether the gum arabic is used.

CANNABIS INFUSED BUBBLE GUM FOR SUB-LINGUAL DELIVERY OF CANNABINOIDS
The invention relates to a product and process for sub-lingual delivery of cannabinoids. The product is a natural bubble gum much like old fashioned bubble gum. The sublingual delivery can aid in controlling dosage as well as the psychosomatic and physiological effects typical to a cannabis infused edible product.
Hard panned coating and confection comprising the same
There is provided a hard panned coating, and a hard panned confection comprising an edible core coated with the same. The hard panned coating comprises multiple sugar syrup layers, only some of which further comprise one or more sucrose esters. In some embodiments, titanium dioxide may be excluded from the sugar syrup/sucrose ester layers. In these, and other, embodiments, the hard panned coatings exhibit one or more L*, a* and b* values within 5% of the corresponding value of a colorant overcoat applied over a precoat comprising titanium dioxide. Raw material cost savings are thus provided, while yet providing a confection having enhanced properties.
Confectionery coatings comprising sucrose esters
Coated confectionery products and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed herein. The coated confectionery products include a confectionery center. A first coating including a carbohydrate and a buffered acid surrounds the confectionery center. A second coating including a carbohydrate and a sucrose esters surrounds the first coating. A third coating including a carbohydrate, a colorant, and a flavorant surrounds the second coating. In addition, a fourth coating including a polishing agent surrounds the third coating.
