Method for handling a hot-filled plastic bottle having a deep-set invertible base
A plastic container comprises an upper portion including a finish defining an opening into the container, a lower portion including a base defining a standing surface, a sidewall extending between the upper portion and the lower portion, the sidewall defining a longitudinal axis, and at least one substantially transversely-oriented pressure panel located in the lower portion. The pressure panel is movable between an outwardly-inclined position and an inwardly-inclined position to compensate for a change of pressure inside the container. The standing surface defines a standing plane, and the entire pressure panel is located between the standing plane and the upper portion of the container when the pressure panel is in the outwardly-inclined position.
System and method for distribution and dispensing of beverages
A method for the distribution and dispensing of beverages utilizes a one-way system including a disposable and freestanding container. The container is blow-molded in one piece from a preform of plastics. The system also includes a tube to be inserted in the container and a closure cap. The container can be filled, distributed to an end user and connected to standard beverage dispensing structure. After use, the empty container is collapsed and discarded.
Bottle, method of making the same and use of FDCA and diol monomers in such bottle
The invention concerns a bottle (1) molded from at least one thermoplastic polymer of at least one Furan Dicarboxylic Acid (FDCA) monomer, preferably 2,5-Furan Dicarboxylic Acid (2,5-FDCA) monomer, and at least one diol monomer, preferably Monoethyleneglycol (MEG) monomer, said bottle, having a main axis (X), being provided with a body (5) and a bottom base (6) extending from a lower end of the body (5), The bottom base (6) comprises: —a peripheral seat (7) defining a laying plane (8); —a concave arch (10) which extends from the periphery of a central zone (11) of the bottom base (6) to the peripheral seat (7), said concave arch (10) having a rounded general shape with a concavity turned towards the outside of the container (1) and the middle point of the central zone (11) being named push-up (11a); —a series of reinforcing grooves (13) which extend radially from the central zone (11) to at least the peripheral seat (7); —base feet (14) located between two adjacent reinforcing grooves (13); According to the invention, the bottle bottom base (6) comprises a push-up height, defined as the height between the push-up (11a) and the laying plan (8), that is in the range of 7 to 10 mm for a bottle having a diameter (D) between 40 and 150 mm.
LIGHTWEIGHT BASE FOR CARBONATED BEVERAGE PACKAGING
This disclosure provides generally container base designs for use in packaging carbonated beverages and new containers that incorporate the base design. It has been found that improved physical and mechanical properties such as good stress crack performance can be achieving while improved light weighting and potential cost savings. The particular base and container designs are generally applicable to carbonated soft drink (CSD) containers, and can be used with containers of any size and with any type of base form such as petaloid or champagne base forms.
TAMPER EVIDENCE BRIDGES
An apparatus and a method are provided for a container cap comprising a plurality of tamper evidence bridges configured to provide evidence that the container cap has been removed from a container by other than a manufacturer of the container. The tamper evidence bridges comprise a small tab of material that extends from a bottom-most edge of the container cap to a neck ring of the container. The tamper evidence bridges are configured to break, or snap, when the container cap is rotated relative to the neck ring. Broken tamper evidence bridges provide readily visible evidence to an end-user of the container that the container cap has been removed by other than the manufacturer of the container. The high visibility of the tamper evidence bridges serves to discourage vendors from attempting to refill and resale of the used containers.
CONTAINER WITH FOLDED SIDEWALL
A blow-molded container including a finish and a base portion. The finish defines an opening at a first end of the container that provides access to an internal volume defined by the container. The base portion is at a second end of the container opposite to the first end. The base portion includes a fold proximate to a sidewall of the container.
Repositionable base structure for a container
Systems and methods for vacuum compensation in hot-filled and cooled containers. Each container reduces, via one or more vacuum panels, a first portion of a vacuum created in the container. Each container also has a repositionable portion to reduce a second portion of the vacuum. During hot-filling, no portion of the repositionable portion extends below a standing or bearing surface of the container.
CONVEYING OF PLASTIC BOTTLES
A conveying system (1), comprising a modular conveyor belt (2) supported on a conveyor track (3) so that top surfaces (4) of the modules (5) of the conveyor belt present a conveying face (6) that in use moves along the track in a conveying direction, and at least one plastic bottle supported at its bottom on the conveying face via one or more textured surfaces at a bottom of the bottle. The disclosure also includes a method of conveying bottles, wherein plastic bottles are supported with their bottoms on a moving conveying face of a conveyor, and wherein the conveying face and the bottom of the bottle are conveyed via one or more textured surfaces (12) at a bottom of the bottle. The disclosure further includes use of at least one textured bottom surface of a plastic bottle for conveying, and a blow mold for blow molding a plastic bottle.
Container having a bottom provided with a vault with a double indentation
Disclosed is a container made of plastics material, which is provided with a body and a bottom (6) that extends from a lower end of the body, the bottom (6) including: a peripheral base (7) that defines a setting-down plane (8); a concave vault (10) which extends from a central area (11), forming a peg that projects towards the inside of the container, to the base (7); a set of main reinforcing grooves (13) which extend radially from the central area (11) as far at least as the base (7), wherein, in the container, the vault (10) has a central region (15), a median region (16) and a peripheral region (17) that are each separated by an internal axial indentation (18) and an external axial indentation (19) which extend annularly in a continuous manner around the central area (11).
Method of handling a plastic container having a moveable base
Method for processing hot-filled plastic containers are provided. In some embodiments, the method may include hot-filling a plastic container, sealing the container, and conveying the sealed container, each with an inner annular wall and a push-up portion in a first position. In some embodiments, the method may further include creating a vacuum pressure in the hot-filled and sealed container and repositioning the push-up portion from the first position to a second position under a mechanical force.
