Container Having a Retained, Externally Displaceable Drain Insert
The disclosure relates to containers for storing articles in a storage space within the container. The storage space is segregated from a reservoir within the interior of the container by a removable insert that prevents movement of the stored articles between the storage space and the reservoir, but does not prevent movement of, for example, gases or liquids therebetween. The insert is interposed between one or more overhangs which extend inwardly within the interior of the container and one or more shelf portions. The shelf portions maintain the patency of the reservoir, and the overhangs prevent the insert from simply falling out of the container. However, the insert can be displaced from the container by a user desiring to do so by grasping the container at its exterior and applying sufficient manual force to displace a flexible portion of the container body. Upon such displacement, the insert can be dumped or otherwise removed from the interior of the container (together with any sequestered liquid or absorbent material that may be present within the reservoir), without the need for the user to touch the interior of the container.
ABSORBENT PADS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
The present disclosure provides high-performance absorbent pads for use with food products, for example for inclusion with packaged meat. The present disclosure also provides food packages, packaged food products, and methods of packaging a food product using a high-performance absorbent pad as disclosed herein. The food product may be poultry or seafood or other food product that releases a liquid that the seller desires to control.
Food Container with Absorbent Bottom
A tray for supporting food products that exude liquid. The tray (12) includes a bottom panel (20) and side walls defining a liquid collection space (34). A plurality of upwardly extending protrusions (42) are positioned in a pattern across and along the bottom panel. A liquid absorbent pad (18) is positioned in the liquid collection space and has seams (47) that match the pattern of the upwardly extending protrusions, so the protrusions of the tray support the seams of the absorbent pad over the bottom wall of the collection space.
Method for Packing Fish Product, and Fish Product Package
A method for packing a fish product (39), and a fish product package. The method comprises packing the fish product (39) in a vacuum package, arranging in said vacuum package an empty space (43), forming in the vacuum package by means of empty space (43) an underpressure, and maintaining the empty space (43) in the package, the underpressure generating pressure on the fish product (39).
ASSEMBLY DEFINING A CHAMBER FOR AN ACTIVE MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH AN ASSEMBLY
This assembly includes a tubular body and a breathable insert configured to be attached inside the tubular body to define a chamber for an active material. The tubular body includes a transverse wall and a lateral wall, and the breathable insert includes a base wall and a side wall having an open end on an opposite side from the base wall. The chamber is delimited by a bottom part of the tubular body and is closed by the breathable insert having its open end turned toward the transverse wall. The side wall of the breathable insert includes a mechanical holding portion configured to cooperate by surface interference with a corresponding mechanical holding portion of the tubular body. In an anchored configuration, a continuous peripheral seal is formed between the breathable insert and the tubular body.
Thermoformed Container Having a Wicking Layer Interposed Between Differently-Shaped Opposed Faces and Methods of Making the Same
The disclosure relates to containers and other shaped articles (e.g., trays and dishes) for containing articles such as food products (e.g., cuts of meat and poultry or liquid-sensitive electronic parts) in shaped articles in which a wicking material is interposed between two thermoformed trays, at least one of which is perforated. Liquid can flow through the perforated tray into the wicking material and thence elsewhere (e.g., to a cavity) in the space between the two trays. The disclosure also relates to hollow shaped articles (e.g., bottles and jars) for containing fluids. In manufacture of such hollow shaped articles, the wicking material serves as a manufacturing aid and can be removed after formation of the article.
System and method for framed lid
A package for retaining a food item includes a tray with a base connected to at least one sidewall. The sidewall extends away from the base to a rim to define an inner chamber. The tray is made of a fluid impermeable material to retain fluids in the inner chamber. The package also includes a shelf made of the fluid impermeable material that is removably supported in the inner chamber such that the shelf is spaced apart from the base of the tray to permit an absorbent pad to be positioned therebetween. The shelf is configured to support the food item in the inner chamber separated from the absorbent pad.
FUNNEL STORAGE SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF
A funnel storage system includes a housing which defines a funnel storage chamber with an access opening, a cover, a funnel retention mechanism, and a containment tray. The cover is detachably coupled to the housing across the access opening. The funnel retention mechanism is coupled to the housing in the funnel storage chamber and is configured to detachably retain one or more funnels within the funnel storage chamber in the housing. The containment tray is slidably engaged within another opening to the housing adjacent a floor of the funnel storage chamber.
