Apparatus and Method for Manufacturing a Smoking Article Pack An apparatus (10) for manufacturing a sealed pack (20, 34, 36, 37) of smoking articles (2) and modifying an internal atmosphere thereof. The apparatus (10) comprises a handling mechanism (13) for conveying a sealed pack (20) of smoking articles (2) within the apparatus (10). The handling mechanism (13) includes a support plate (24) against which a pack (20) abuts during conveyance by the handling mechanism (13). The support plate (24) includes a gas port (29). The apparatus (10) is configured such that, as a pack (20) is conveyed by the handling mechanism (13) in abutment with the support plate (24), the gas port (29) may engage a valve (4) formed in the pack (20) to enable a gaseous atmosphere within the sealed (20) pack to be modified. Also, a method of manufacturing a pack (37) of smoking articles (2) by means of such an apparatus (10).

Reclosable package of cigarettes, comprising: a group of cigarettes; a soft envelope having a parallelepiped shape and comprising a front surface, a rear surface, a top surface, a bottom surface and two side surfaces, the envelope encloses the group of cigarettes and is provided with a cigarette extraction opening; a stiffening element wrapping the envelope along at least two opposite surfaces of the envelope and at the extraction opening; a reclosable opening system consisting in an adhesive closing panel superimposed in a removable manner on an adhesive frame panel, the opening system covers the extraction opening; wherein the closing panel is movable between an opening position and a closing position of the extraction opening, and wherein the opening system is fastened to the stiffening element by firmly superimposing the frame panel on at least two opposite walls of the stiffening element and at the extraction opening.

A pack of smoking articles includes: a group of smoking articles; an inner wrapper folded around said group forming a tubular wall wrapping said group, and an upper wall covering a head end of said group; an outer wrapper folded around said group wrapped in said inner wrapper, to form a tubular wall that wraps said group wrapped in said inner wrapper, and a lower wall covering a bottom end of said group; wherein said upper wall is formed by at least two upper flaps which are connected to said tubular wall of said inner wrapper and are folded against said head end to completely cover said head end. The present invention is directed to a pouch pack made up of a plurality of pouches where each pouch is a re-sealable container for preserving single or multiple cigars or single or multiple cigar tobacco leaves. A perforation allows the pouch pack to be separated into the individual pouches without damage to the pouches. A vent/seal allows the atmosphere in the pouch to be controlled. A form encases the cigar tobacco leaf in the pouch pack while allowing the cigar tobacco leaf to equilibrate with the atmosphere in the pouch which is controlled by one or more of a humectant, a vent/seal and a sensor to control the humidity in the pouch. In an embodiment of the invention, the form is one or more wrapped cigar tobacco leaves. A mold protects a cigar or a cigar tobacco leaf from damage by an external force exerted on the pouch or pouch pack.

positioning the folded wrapping sheet to contact walls, front rear and head wall of the assembly, with flaps protruding beyond bottom and lateral walls;

welding lower and upper flaps, and defining a transverse edge;

folding the welded transverse edge rotating it by 180° toward the front wall;

folding the upper and lower transverse flaps;

folding the upper and lower transverse flaps;

folding the rear and front longitudinal flaps, and partly also the transverse edge, toward the lower lateral walls, overlapping one on top of the other above the transverse flaps, and finally welding them to seal the airtight wrapper.

In an example embodiment, a pack for tobacco articles comprises an inner sleeve, and an outer box comprising front and back covers that allow access to the inner sleeve when the outer box is opened. The inner sleeve can include a front connecting panel pivotally connecting a front wall of the inner sleeve to an inner surface of the front cover and a back connecting panel pivotally connecting a back wall of the inner sleeve to an inner surface of the back cover. A slot in the outer box is configured to allow opening of the outer box by applying pressure against a bottom wall of the inner sleeve.
