CONTAINER FOR BEVERAGE PREPARATION
The invention relates to a coffee layer structure and to containers for beverage preparation. According to one of the containers, the container comprises a compartment (91) containing ground coffee particles (1, 2) to be extracted, wherein the compartment (91) is adapted to be traversed by a flow of water under pressure from an injection wall (89) of the container towards a dispensing wall (92) of the container for preparing a beverage from the coffee particles (1, 2), wherein the coffee particles (1, 2) comprise: a first group of first coffee particles (1) having a first volume moment mean D [4,3], and a second group of second coffee particles (2) having a second volume moment mean D[4,3] and being arranged downstream of the first group of first coffee particles (1), wherein the second group of second coffee particles (2) is in direct contact with the dispensing wall (92), wherein the second volume moment mean is greater than the first volume moment mean.
IMPROVED CAPSULE FOR THE INFUSION OF DRINKS
A capsule for infusion beverage by a dispensing machine has one or more upper sections containing liquid, one or more lower sections containing infusion mixture, and a spout placed into a base of the lower sections, the upper and lower section joined by a mechanical watertight connection or ultrasonic weld. A first and a second mechanical seal valve both with programmed breakage are respectively disposed on an upper side and a lower side of the upper sections. The lower sections are equipped with a diffuser filter placed on an upper side communicating with the upper sections, a diffuser filter placed on a lower side, and a lower mechanical seal valve with programmed breakage communicating with the spout. The lower mechanical seal valve has an opening threshold higher than an opening threshold of the second mechanical seal valve.
Beverage dispensing system and method
A system and method is presented wherein a disposable pod having two chambers, each of which can be either wet or dry and contain a variety of substances, is sized to fit distinct brewing systems offered by third parties, such that the puncturing and water dispensing functionality of such brewing systems cause the mixture of the variety of substances in the two chambers resulting in a wide range of beverages.
SINGLE-SERVE BEVERAGE POD WITH ADDITIVE ENCLOSURE AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THEREOF
The present disclosure is directed to a single-serve beverage pod having an additive enclosure and methods of making and using the same. The additive enclosure may serve to hold an additive that, when brewing a single-serve beverage, combines with a beverage precursor to yield a beverage infused with the additive. The present disclosure has recognized the difficulty in introducing a precise amount of desired additive in beverages, as well as the possibility of the additive being absorbed by or adversely affecting the beverage precursor, and provides a solution to making and using a single-serve beverage pod with a precise amount of desired additive.
CAPSULE FOR THE PREPARATION OF A COFFEE-BASED BEVERAGE
A capsule for extraction of a beverage of the filter-coffee type has a capsule body (2), made of water-impermeable material, which defines a chamber (3), present inside which is a precursor of the beverage, comprising soluble coffee and roast and ground coffee. At least 51 wt % of the precursor is roast and ground coffee having a grain size expressed in x50 comprised between 350 and 800 μm, and the complement to 100 wt % of the precursor is soluble coffee having a grain size expressed in x50 comprised between 1000 and 5000 μm. The roast and ground coffee is laid out to form a first layer (GC) in the lower part of the capsule body (3), and the soluble coffee (SC) is laid out to form a second layer (SC) in the upper part of the capsule body, i.e., in a position corresponding to the inlet wall (5) and/or above the first layer (GC). The first layer of roast and ground coffee (GC) is pressed inside the capsule body (3), and the second layer of soluble coffee (SC) is present inside the capsule body (3) substantially unpressed.
Beverage preparation system and capsules
A system for the preparation of a multi-component food product, such as coffee, tea, soup or baby food. The system comprises two or more capsules (300,400), each capsule providing a component of the multi-component food product, each capsule having an inlet region for receiving liquid into the capsule and an outlet region (330) for dispensing liquid from the capsule, wherein the outlet region of a first capsule is configured to mate with the inlet region of a second capsule, such that the first and second capsules may be connected in fluid communication.
CAPSULE SYSTEM SEATABLE WITHIN A CARTRIDGE FOR A BEVERAGE MACHINE
An improved beverage cartridge is provided for use in forming a beverage in a beverage machine that provides a pressurized liquid. The cartridge includes a container having an interior space, a lid that accommodates an inflow of the pressurized liquid, and a filter arranged to contain a beverage medium arranged to interact with a liquid to form the beverage. The cartridge also includes annular disc shaped capsule configured for placement within the container. The capsule has a hollow interior chamber that contains a beverage medium and an open bottom that is sealed closed by a membrane. The membrane is configured to selectively provide fluid communication between the space inside the container and the chamber allowing liquid introduced into the container to flow into the capsule's chamber. The membrane is also pierceable by the beverage machine to accommodate an outflow of the liquid flowing into the capsule.
BREWING SUBSTANCE CONTAINER FOR USE IN BREWING MACHINE
Disclosed is a container for a brewing substance, where the container comprises a housing having an interior; a brewing substance located in the interior of the housing; and a non-liquid substance comprising at least one cannabinoid, such as cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG), and/or cannabinol (CBN). In one embodiment, a filter contains the brewing substance in the housing and the non-liquid substance is located below the filter. Also disclosed are methods of assembling the container.
MACHINE AND METHODS FOR DISPENSING NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS AND MULTI-SERVING CARTRIDGE THEREFOR
A granulated nutritional supplement dispensing machine extracts single-serving doses from a multi-serving supplements cartridge for delivery as a drinkable solution. A lead serving chamber is pierced so that its powered contents drain into a mixing cup together with a metered quantity of water from an integrated water tank. A vibrator unit assists drainage of the granulated materials from the lead serving chamber. The mixing cup is rotated at high speed to blend the water and supplements into a slurry. The supplements cartridge is indexed after (or before) use so that an unopened serving chamber is presented each time for extracting its supplements. This enables partially-used supplements cartridges to be used in the machine, as is conducive in multiple-user households. The supplements cartridge is configured with read-write data capability to indicate whether or not the contents of each serving chamber have been emptied.
AN OPTIMIZED COFFEE POD FOR BEVERAGE PREPARATION
The present invention concerns a container (1) containing coffee ingredient, comprising a chamber delimited by an injection wall (3) able to be punctured or otherwise opened for circulating water under pressure and by a coffee delivery wall (4), the entire chamber being filled with said coffee. At least a portion of said injection wall (3) has the shape of a half torus, or a half toroidal polyhedron, so as to define a ring-shaped chamber portion (2).
