Resealable container lid and accessories including methods of manufacturing and use
A resealable container lid assembly including a cap rotationally assembled to a lid. The cap rotates between storage, opening, removal and resealing positions. Operation between the cap and the lid employs any suitable mechanical interface, such as cam tracks and cam followers. The lid includes a tear panel defined by a score line. Features of the cap are used to impinge upon the lid to fracture the score line and open the tear panel. Once opened, the cap can reseal the container. The seal can be provided between a bottom surface of the cap and the top surface of the lid, a feature of the sidewalls of the cap and the lid, or any other sealing interface. The cap can include a tamper indicator. The cap can be replaced with any of a variety of specialized caps and/or accessories designed for different functions.
Closure for a beverage can lid
A closure for a beverage can lid has a body having a back end, a front end, a front panel portion, a rear panel portion, and a step down section between the front panel portion and the rear panel portion, a left edge, and a right edge, the back end having a track portion, the front end having a left ear section having a left front edge, a central rounded recess, and a right ear section having a right front edge.
PLECTRUM AS A LID IN BEVERAGE CANS
The invention relates to a plectrum (1) comprising a flat member (2) that is generally sector-shaped form a top view and has an inner face (3) and an outer face (4) from a top view, the outer face (4) having a larger peripheral size than the inner face (3). The invention is characterized in that the flat member (2) is a single piece, a slot (5) which extends into an opening (6) for a rotary bearing is provided on the inner face (3), and the flat member (2) simultaneously forms a rotatable protective clip-on-part for open beverage cans (8) or the like.
CLOSURE FOR A BEVERAGE CAN LID
A closure for a beverage can lid has a body having a back end and a front end with the front end having a first ear section having a first rounded section, a first indented portion, and a first lobe section, a second ear section having a second rounded section, a second indented portion, and a second lobe section, a central rounded section having a rivet opening formed therein and the central rounded section positioned between the first ear section and the second ear section, a first central section having a first step down section, and a second central section having a second step down section.
RESEALABLE BEVERAGE CAN
A beverage can includes a can body and a lid joined to the can body. The can body includes an opening. The lid covers the opening. The lid includes a collar, a cap, and a band. The collar is separately formed from the can body and includes a neck. The neck includes a threaded portion. The cap is threadedly engaged with the threaded portion of the neck. The band is frangibly connected to the cap and encircles the neck. The band is integrally formed with the cap and separately formed from the collar. The cap, band, and neck are respectively configured to cause the band to break away from the cap when the cap is threadedly disengaged from the neck.
Sealing cap having tamper evidence ring for sealing resealable container and method of use
A plug styled closure cap for resealing a resealable container. The cap includes a body comprising a sidewall, a motion translating feature formed on an exterior surface of the sidewall of the plug style closure cap body that translates a rotational motion to an axial motion when engaged with a mating translating feature formed on an interior surface of a container opening, a sealing surface that engages with a mating sealing surface of the container opening, and a tamper evidence feature integral with the cap body. The sealing surface can include an elastomeric element. The tamper evidence feature can include at least one segment defined by frangible elements. A method of use enables resealing of the container and indication when the container is no longer factory sealed.
RECLOSABLE CAN ENDS
Reclosable can ends are provided. In some embodiments, the reclosable can ends comprise: a lid base that comprises a scored area; a tab that causes the scored area to at least partially separate from the lid base to expose an opening in the lid base; a closure flap, wherein the closure flap comprises: a first portion; a second portion; an opening; and a protruding portion; and a rivet that connects the tab and the closure flap to the lid base such that the tab and the closure flap are configured to rotate around the rivet, wherein the first portion of the closure flap is configured to be inserted into the opening in the lid base end when the tab and the closure flap are rotated to a position corresponding to a position of the opening in the lid base.
Can ends having re-closable covers
An example can end includes a can end having center panel defining a pour panel and a first wall extending from the center panel. A cover defines a first opening and rotatably couples to the can end. The cover is rotatable relative to the pour panel between a first position and a second position. The opening of the cover aligns with the pour panel to allow access to the pour panel when the cover is in the first position. The opening of the cover is offset relative to the pour panel such that the opening is misaligned with the pour panel to at least one of restrict or prevent access to the pour panel when the cover is in the second position.
CAN ENDS HAVING RE-CLOSABLE COVERS
Can ends having re-closable covers are disclosed. An example can end assembly includes a can end having a center panel that defines a pour panel and a cover rotatably coupled to the can end. The cover has a diameter that is greater than a diameter of the can end. The cover is rotatable relative to the can end between a first position to at least one of prevent or restrict access to the pour panel and a second position to enable access to the pour panel.
Resealable can lids for metal beverage cans
A can lid comprises a base having a weakened contour defining a tear portion, wherein the base comprises a flange, with a rivet at the center of the base, and with an opening tab attached to the rivet structure. Rotatable bottom and top lids are secured to the rivet structure. An external curved guide rim in the bottom lid is slidably fitted in a circumferential bottom groove of the flange, and an external curved guide rim of the top lid is fitted slidably in a circumferential top groove of the flange of the base. The lids are adapted to rotate about the rivet structure independent of each other. Both lids comprises a protrusion disposed in a direction opposite the side of each lid that faces the base. The protrusions of the lids fit tightly against each other when the lids are in an identical position.
