The present disclosure relates to a paperboard sealing disc for use in a packaging container, comprising a peripheral edge portion surrounding a tear-open part having a push-tab and a pull-away part. The tear-open part is delimited from the peripheral edge portion by a first cutting line in the first side and by a second cutting line in the second side. Said first cutting line being provided at a distance d1 from said sealing disc outer edge, and said second cutting line being provided at a distance d2 from said sealing disc outer edge. The push-tab is at least partly delimited from the pull-away part by a folding line. At the push-tab d1>d2 and at the pull-away part d4>d3. Furthermore, d1 at said push-tab is substantially the same as d4 at said pull-away part and d2 at said push-tab is substantially the same as d3 at said pull-away part.

A method of marketing food items may include displaying in an upright, on-edge orientation on a horizontal shelf in the retail establishment a plurality of generally dumbbell-shaped packages with high-protein food items. The package may be generally dumbbell-shaped as viewed from the front and/or from other angles, and may comprise a center portion that is narrower and/or shallower than adjacent end portions. A packaging device incorporating a breathable peel/reseal film and enabling a preservation process for allowing for the distribution, storage and multiple servings of a food product, particularly perishable food product(s), and initiating and controlling the transmission rates, respiration rates or deterioration of the perishable food product(s) and thereby, maintaining good internal and external food quality and normal development of flavor and aroma characteristics. The packaging device includes a plurality of atmospheric control attributes that modulates or controls the atmosphere within the packaging device as the food product(s) respire in order to promote the extended shelf-life of the food product and the maintenance of the quality and desirable marketable characteristics of the food product. The atmospheric control attributes can include perforations that may be positioned in breathable peel/reseal film portion of the package to allow the product respiration for multiple servings without substantially altering the shelf life extension properties of the packaging device.

Containers are described that allow a consumer to see inside the container and to more easily access the products. One form of the container includes a base member with a lid defining a window. A flexible laminate with a peelable flap portion is attached to the lid to provide access to the products inside. The flexible laminate includes a first film layer laminated to a second film layer. The first film layer includes a first cut line defining a peelable flap portion and the second film layer includes a second cut line offset from the first cut line that defines an opening into the container. First and second reclose surfaces defined between the cut lines on the corresponding film layers include pressure-sensitive adhesive to allow the container to be re-sealed via movement of the peelable flap portion back into engagement with the flexible laminate remaining with the container.

Apparatus and methods are disclosed for sealing openings on containers and other structures, permitting selective removal of portions of the seal structure, and for similar selective removal of portions of adhesive elements such as bandages.

The present invention relates to a resealable membrane lid for a container comprising a peelable portion and a removable portion. When the resealable peelable portion is peeled back, the seal onto the container is not disturbed. When the removable portion is removed from the container, the container contents may be accessed. The peelable portion may be resealed onto the container at any point in the process.

The present subject matter relates to a label lid for sealing an opening in a packaging container. The label comprises a facestock layer, a removable adhesive layer, a heat-seal layer, and an optional release coating, wherein the removable adhesive layer does not include a release liner. The removable adhesive layer can be coated on the heat-seal layer or the facestock layer. Optionally, a release coating can be applied to the heat-seal layer or the facestock layer. The composition of the layers used in specific arrangements provides unique performance characteristics for the label for improved sealing, reclosure, and matrix stripping properties.
