Vertical sequencer for product order fulfillment
A product order fulfillment system including a multi-level transport system and a lifting transport system. Each level of the multi-level transport system having a corresponding independent asynchronous level transport system separate and distinct from the asynchronous level transport system corresponding to each other level of the multi-level transport system. Each independent lift axis of the lifting transport system being configured to independently hold at least one case and being communicably coupled to each asynchronous level transport system so as to provide for exchange of the at least one case between each asynchronous level transport system and each independent lift axis. Each independent lift axis is communicably coupled to each other independent lift axis of the more than one lift axis and forms a common output of mixed cases so as to create an ordered sequence of mixed cases in accordance to a predetermined case out ordered sequence.
Method for sorting articles, and sorting device
A sorting device and a method for sorting articles at delivery points are shown, the sorting device having a conveying device comprising transport platforms that are movable along a transport direction for transporting the articles and for delivering the articles to the delivery points, with the transport platforms having a bearing surface for the articles and with at least one transport platform having a first delivery device for vertically delivering the articles from the bearing surface to at least one first delivery point. To provide a sorting device for reliable and careful joint sorting of articles with different transport and delivery requirements, at least one transport platform has a second delivery device for laterally delivering the articles from the bearing surface to at least one second delivery point.
Modular conveyor belt with hook hinges
Conveyor belt modules having rodless hook hinges and modular conveyor belts constructed of those modules. Hooks on opposite ends of belt modules hook into complementary hooks on adjacent modules to interconnect the modules at hinge joints into an endless belt. The geometry of the modules enables them to be manufactured by extrusion.
Article sorting system
A system for sorting articles includes a plurality of article supporters attached to an endless chain. At least one diverting point is provided at which the articles may be removed. A plurality of lateral pushers are movable along the article supporter so as to selectively push the articles off the article supporters at the diverting point. A distributing mechanism initiates the movement of the lateral pushers. At least one diversion detection device is configured to identify a presence of each of the article supporters. A controller is configured to determine a slat number of each of the article supporters and to determine whether the article positioned on the article supporter associated with the detected slat number should be removed at the diverting point, and to actuate the distributing mechanism. The at least one diversion detection device is substantially aligned with the actuator in the direction of travel.
System and method for dual density sorter
A sorting system is provided. The sorter system includes a conveyor frame, slats disposed on the conveyor frame and extending substantially perpendicularly to a central axis of the conveyor frame. Shoes are disposed on the slat and are moveable between a central position adjacent to the central axis of the conveyor frame, and a distal position adjacent to one of a first and second side of the conveyor frame.
Sorting system
Sorting system for sorting products as well as method for application thereof. The sorting system comprises a central control system and a number of combinations of an elongated carrying body and a pusher body. The carrying bodies extend parallel to each other and are each configured for carrying a product to be sorted. The sorting system further comprises a displacing device for moving the combinations. Each combination is further provided with a further displacing device that is provided with an on-board driving device for moving the pusher body in a sorting direction along the carrying body for pushing a product carried by the carrying body off of the carrying body with the pusher body, as well as with an on-board control system that is configured for receiving destination data emanating from the central control system and for driving the on-board driving device hereto. The sorting system further comprises a distance-determining device that is configured for determining a distance parameter that is related to the, or at least a, distance between a pusher body and a product to be sorted and for sending the distance parameter to the on-board control system. The on-board control system is configured for controlling the on-board driving device of the combination on the basis of this distance data.

Sorter performance monitoring method and system
A method of sorting articles with a sorter apparatus and a sorter apparatus having a conveying surface that is adapted to transport articles in a direction of conveyance and a mechanism adapted to displace articles on the conveying surface, the sorter apparatus having an endless web of bodies travelling in an endless loop defining the conveying surface includes a distributed drive system having at least one drive that is adapted to produce to provide force with at least one of the bodies to propel the endless web. A diagnostic device traveling with the web and positioned at one of the bodies of the endless web. The diagnostic device is adapted to monitor operation of the sorter apparatus and includes at least one sensor that is adapted to detect at least one parameter of a proximate drive that is proximate to the at least one sensor, and a controller adapted to receive the at least one parameter from the at least one sensor. A stationary thermal sensor may also monitor the endless loop via another controller including receiving thermal data from the stationary thermal sensor and the another controller correlates the thermal images with a portion of the endless loop.
Chain slack adjustment mechanism for mail sortation systems
A mail sortation system includes a frame system, a conveyor carried by the frame system, a driven axle on one end of the conveyor, a pair of split idler axles, one idler axel on each side of the conveyor, a chain from each idler axel to the driven axel, and a chain slack adjustment mechanism. The idler axels are configured to rotate independently of each other. The chains are coupled to the conveyor, such that rotation of the driven axle causes the idler axles to rotate and the conveyor to translate. The chain slack adjustment mechanisms remove slack in each chain by increasing the distance between the driven axle and the idler axles.
