Automated garment manufacturing using continuous webs of fabric
Embodiments herein describe automated systems and methods to assemble a garment, such as a T-shirt. Some embodiments provide for systems and methods for transferring and manipulating fabrics and joining garment components during garment manufacturing in a way that is more suitable to automation. Some embodiments provide for garment manufacturing systems and methods that are reconfigurable to enable both mass production of customized garments and small batch processing with reduced human intervention.
RECORDING DEVICE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING RECORDING DEVICE
In a printer, an accommodating portion accommodates roll paper. A supply roller pair is disposed upstream of a recording unit in a transport direction, and nips the roll paper. The intermediate roller pair is rotatably disposed between the supply roller pair and the accommodating portion, and nips the roll paper. A second motor and a third motor apply tension to the roll paper between the intermediate roller pair and the accommodating portion. A control unit can switch between a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, first tension is applied to the roll paper between the intermediate roller pair and the accommodating portion. In the second mode, second tension smaller than the first tension is applied.
Tension regulating directly driven roller festoon
A web handling system and method for controlling tension in a web of material is disclosed. For instance, the web handling system is particularly well suited for maintaining web tension within predefined setpoints during temporary interruptions in the process, such as during splicing operations. The web handling system includes an accumulator or festoon that accumulates amounts of the material as the material is being fed downstream. At least one guide roll within the festoon is coupled to a drive device, such as a motor. The system also includes at least one tension sensing device. The drive device accelerates or decelerates the guide roll based upon information obtained from the tension sensing device. In one embodiment, the system further includes an electronic gearing configuration between a roll of material being unwound and the guide roll within the festoon for better synchronization and further minimizing tension swings. The electronic gearing can include a diameter calculator for the roll of material being unwound based on speed feedback of a driven guide roll.
MEDIA CONDITIONING
In some examples, a conditioner system for a media printed by a printing system includes a media conditioning assembly comprising a heater, the media conditioning assembly to receive the media printed by the printing system after the media has been heated by a dryer in the printing system after printing has occurred on the media. Responsive to a determined moisture content of the media, the heater of the media conditioning assembly controls a temperature of the media, and the media conditioning assembly controls a speed of the media through the media conditioning assembly.
WASTE DETERMINATION FOR GENERATING CONTROL PLANS FOR DIGITAL PRE-PRINT PAPER, SHEET, AND BOX MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS
Systems for providing efficient manufacturing of paper, sheet, and/or box products of varying size and structure, often with pre-applied print (“pre-print”), are provided herein. One or more controllers can be used to aggregate upcoming orders and information needed to complete the manufacturing process for the order. A controller enables a user to prepare control plans (e.g., reel maps, reel plans, etc.) for processing rolls of web product through the manufacturing process. Criteria filtering and/or various features enable generation of efficient and effective control plans for rolls of web product, including, in some cases, multiple orders. The control plan may include a set of instructions for operating one or more systems within the manufacturing process to form the desired finished paper-based product. In such a regard, efficient manufacturing of various paper-based products, including corrugated boxes, folded carton, labels, flexible paper, industrial bags, plates, cups, décor, and many others, can be achieved.
Control apparatus
A control apparatus of a web processing system that executes predetermined processing onto a web continuously existing along a movement passage, in which the web processing system includes a rotating body that rotates while being in contact with the web, and the control apparatus controls a rotation speed of the rotating body such that a circumferential speed of the rotating body at a contact surface with the web matches a transport speed of the web.

Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes a transport unit configured to transport a medium, a winding unit disposed downstream, in a transport direction, of the transport unit, the winding unit being configured to wind the medium, and a tension applying unit including a rod member biased toward the medium between the transport unit and the winding unit, the rod member being for applying a tension to the medium. The tension applying unit is configured so that the rod member moves along a predetermined direction as at least one of the transport unit and the winding unit is driven to transport the medium. An upper limit position of a movement of the tension bar along the predetermined axis is changed according to a winding mode of the winding unit.
