Cable spool assembly

A spool assembly includes a drum having a first axial end and an oppositely disposed second axial end. The drum includes an inner surface that defines a bore that extends through the first and second axial ends. A drum support is disposed in the bore of the drum. The drum support includes a first end and an oppositely disposed second end. The drum support has an exterior surface. The exterior surface of the drum support and the inner surface of the drum define a plurality of channels. A first flange is engaged to the first end of the drum support. A second flange is engaged to the second end of the drum support.

Reel assembly

A set of blanks for being repeatedly assembled into a reel configuration. A flange blank has pass through slots angularly spaced apart from one another and interlocking apertures angularly aligned with the pass through slots. Each pass through slot is spaced radially from an interlocking aperture. A core blank has a hub portion that is folded toward a core configuration in which it has an annular shape. Push tabs extend outwardly from the hub portion. Each of the push tabs passes through a pass through slot. Each push tab includes a spine and a pair of wings extending outwardly from the spine. The wings of each push tab bend away from a coplanar position with respect to their spine as the push tab is inserted in an interlocking aperture. The wings lockingly engage the flange blank when each push tab is lockingly received in the interlocking aperture.

An apparatus for removing flexible filament from a spool. The apparatus includes a spool body and an end cap with a tension arm. It is designed to be inserted into a drill chuck and filament like fishing line is wound about the spool body and tension arm. After the line is wound, the end cap and tension arm piece is removed from the spool body and the line is removed.

REUSABLE REEL

A reel includes a first reel member and a second reel member. The first reel member includes a first barrel portion, a first flange portion, and a first hub portion, and the second reel member includes a second barrel portion, a second flange portion, and a second hub portion. The first barrel portion and the second barrel portion are configured to be coupled with one another. The first barrel portion includes an inner wall and an outer wall that are spaced apart from one another in a radial direction of the first barrel portion, and the first barrel portion, the first flange portion, and the first hub portion are portions of a first single piece structure of unitary construction.

The present disclosure relates to a cable reel comprising: a tubular main body extending along a longitudinal axis (L), comprising a plurality of tubular sections successively arranged side by side along the longitudinal axis (L) and releasably interconnected one to another; a first flange positioned at a first end of the main body, releasably connected to a first tubular section of the plurality of tubular sections; a second flange positioned at a second end of the main body, releasably connected to a last tubular section of the plurality of tubular sections, wherein each tubular section comprises at least two arcuate sections releasably interconnected in circumferential direction.

Sliding lock for break-down spool

A locking system for a spool comprising a barrel, a flange, and a sliding lock. The sliding lock has at least one rail that slidably engages with at least one barrel detent and at least one flange detent to prevent rotation of the flange on the barrel. The sliding lock comprises at least one arm with at least one catch. The at least one catch can be removably locked into at least one recess on the flange.

The present application is directed to a cable reel assembly. The assembly includes a center hub member having a main body with four side walls and two coiler section members. Opposing side walls of the center hub member each have an aperture or slot. Each coiler section member includes an arcuate base member having a securing mechanism extending radially inward therefrom and opposing side walls extend radially outwardly from the base member. The opposing side walls are spaced apart to define a channel configured to receive and hold one or more trunk cables therein. The securing mechanism is configured to releasably interlock with a corresponding aperture or slot of the center hub member to secure the respective coiler section member to the center hub member. The assembly is configured such that one or more trunk cables can be wrapped around and held within the channels of the coiler section members.

Reel assemblies and methods of making and using reel assemblies

An improved reel or spool package comprises opposing flange assemblies. Each flange assembly comprises inner and outer parallel members having a connective material in between them. A core interconnects the flange assemblies. One or more rods extends through each end of the center core such that portions of the rods are in contact with the connective material. The connective material connects the inner and outer parallel members of each flange assembly together and holds the rods in place relative to the core and the parallel members. There is no need for additional fastening devices (e.g., bolts, screws, welds, etc.). The resulting package is extremely strong, even if a paper core is used, and can replace wood or metal reels currently used in many applications.

Reel with rolled core

A kit for assembly into at least a first reel includes a core and two flanges. The core has a substantially rectangular main body having opposing first and second axially extending edges and opposing first and second end edges extending between the first and second axially extending edges. The core also includes a first set of interlocking teeth on the first axially extending edge, and a first set of first connecting tabs on the first end edge. The main body is configured to be deformed or rolled into a cylinder in which the first set of interlocking teeth engage connecting features of the second axially extending edge. The first flange has an annulus and at least one axially extending rib or rim. The annulus includes receptacles for receiving and operably coupling to the first set of connecting tabs. The second flange is configured to couple to the core.
