The process of producing concentrated maple sap can include concentrating the maple sap using membrane filtration to a sugar content of approximately 30? Brix, circulating the maple through a maple sap passage of a membrane, wherein the membrane contains the maple sap in a vacuum cavity, and evaporating the water from the maple sap across the membrane into the cavity. The concentrated maple sap having a sugar content above 50? Brix.

DOMESTIC FOOD PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD
20190059655 · 2019-02-28 ·

A domestic food processing apparatus is for rotary food processing, in which a food temperature is controlled to be in the range 50.0 to 75.0 degrees Celsius during or immediately after processing. Food such as fruit or vegetables may be processed, for example blended or juiced. The heating process is used to deactivate ascorbate oxidase so that it does not break down vitamin C after the fruit or vegetables have been blended or juiced. The temperature is high enough to provide deactivation of the ascorbate oxidase but not so high as to destroy the vitamin C by overheating. An ultrasound system (28, 30) is used to generate heat and also turbulence thus giving a combined stirring and heating effect, and the stirring effect partially destroys ascorbate oxidase activity through mechanical processes in addition to the temperature dependent effects.

A process for preparing fish bone powder according to this invention generally comprising at least 4 steps: pre-heating, removing of impurity, drying and milling to derive a calcium-rich bone powder product that contains calcium in the range of 18-22 g/100 g of the final product. In addition, the bone powder particle size obtained is less than 100 microns and contains high levels of protein, fat, and essential minerals, such as sodium and phosphorus. The source of bone can be obtained from any fishes, preferably from tuna.

METHOD FOR THE DETOXIFICATION OF GLUTEN PROTEINS FROM CEREAL GRAINS AND USES THEREOF IN MEDICAL FIELD
20190000118 · 2019-01-03 ·

An improved method of detoxifying gluten proteins from cereal grains produces detoxified cereal grains with a reduction of antigenicity of toxic epitopes of gluten proteins by up to a range between 0 and 20 ppm. The detoxified cereal grains can be advantageously used for preparation of of food products (e.g. bakery products, pasta or dairy products) having a manifest preventive and/or therapeutic effect for gut dysbiosis caused by bacterial or viral infective agents or by pathologies with a strong inflammatory or autoimmune component such as celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and irritable intestine syndrome.
