A sheet discharge device of the present invention includes discharge rollers configured to transport a sheet in a predetermined transport direction and to discharge the sheet to a discharge tray, and an upper discharge tray disposed above the discharge tray with a space being interposed therebetween. A bottom face of the upper discharge tray that faces the discharge tray includes a guide rib extending in an oblique direction inclined relative to the transport direction.

A paper delivery device includes a shift frame movable in a second direction perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to a first direction along which paper is delivered to outside, a driver that moves the shift frame in the second direction, a drive roller with a first outer peripheral surface extending in the second direction and supported by the shift frame such that the drive roller is rotatable about a first shaft parallel or substantially parallel to the second direction, a first driven roller with a second outer peripheral surface extending in the second direction and contactable with the first outer peripheral surface at a first contact position, the first driven roller supported by the shift frame such that the first driven roller is rotatable about a second shaft parallel or substantially parallel to the second direction following the rotation of the drive roller, the first driven roller being rotated in a state where the paper is nipped between the first outer peripheral surface and the second outer peripheral surface thus transporting the paper in the first direction, and a second driven roller with a third outer peripheral surface extending in the second direction and contactable with the first outer peripheral surface at a second contact position downstream of the first contact position in the first direction, the second driven roller being supported by the shift frame such that the second driven roller is rotated about a third shaft disposed parallel or substantially parallel to the second direction following the rotation of the drive roller, the second driven roller being rotated in a state where the paper which is nipped between the first outer peripheral surface and the second outer peripheral surface is nipped by the first outer peripheral surface and the third outer peripheral surface thus transporting the paper in the first direction.

An image forming apparatus includes: a pair of rollers for conveying paper; a rocking mechanism for rocking the pair of rollers in a second direction orthogonal to a first direction., the first direction being a paper conveying direction; an upstream pair of rollers provided upstream of the pair of rollers in the paper conveying direction for conveying the paper; an upstream rocking mechanism corresponding to the upstream pair of rollers for rocking the upstream pair of rollers in the second direction; a first paper detector for detecting an end position of the paper in the second direction; and a controller controlling the rocking mechanism based on the paper end position to effect first rocking correction in which the pair of rollers is rocked, wherein the controller controls the upstream rocking mechanism to effect second rocking correction in which only the upstream pair of rollers is rocked.

There is provided a conveyance apparatus including: a conveyance roller; a plurality of driven rollers; a plurality of roller holders; an biasing member biasing each of the roller holders toward a first position; and a movable member having a plurality of cam portions. Each of the cam portions has: a first inclined surface abutting against one of the roller holders from a side of one of the driven rollers, during a movement process of the movable member from a third position to a fourth position, to thereby move one of the roller holders from the first position toward a second position; and a second inclined surface arranged upstream of the first inclined surface in a moving direction, and abutting against one of the roller holders from the side of one of the driven rollers, during the movement process of the movable member from the third position to the fourth position.
SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING SAME
A sheet conveying device includes an opening-and-closing member, a pressing member, a hook, a biasing member, and an adjuster. The opening-and-closing member has a lower end to be supported by an apparatus body and is rotatable. The pressing member is disposed in the opening-and-closing member to press a pressed member of the apparatus body. The hook engages with an engaging member of the apparatus body to hold the opening-and-closing member at a closing position of the opening-and-closing member. The biasing member biases the hook in a direction to maintain engagement of the hook. The adjuster adjusts at least one of a pressing force of the pressing member or a protrusion amount of the pressing member with respect to a surrounding member of the pressing member. The hook rotates against a biasing force of the biasing member to ride over the engaging member and engage with the engaging member.

A conveying apparatus includes a conveyor which conveys a first sheet medium unwound from a roll body in a conveyance direction and which has first and second rollers to nip the first sheet medium at a nipping point; a pressing mechanism which is moved to a pressing position at which the first and second rollers are pressed against each other and a release position at which the first and second rollers are released from being pressed against each other; a detector which detects the first sheet medium located downstream of the nipping point; and a controller. The controller executes a first determining process of determining whether the first sheet medium is detected by the detector; a pressing process of moving the pressing mechanism from the release position to the pressing position; and a conveying process of causing the conveyor to convey the first sheet medium after the pressing process.

According to the present disclosure, an image forming apparatus for minimizing a shift amount of the registration roller for the first and subsequent sheets is provided. The image forming apparatus forms an image on a sheet conveyed on a conveying path. The image forming apparatus includes an exposure device. Further, the image forming apparatus includes a pair of registration rollers 110 configured to convey the sheet in a conveying direction with the sheet nipped by the pair of the registration rollers, and a detection unit configured to detect the side edge position in the width direction of the sheet conveyed. The control unit 200 of the image forming apparatus determines the image writing position for the first sheet, and controls the image writing of the exposure device based on the detection result of the CIS 141 for the first sheet.
