SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING THE SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE
A sheet conveying device includes a pair of rollers including a first roller and a second roller to hold a sheet conveyed between the first and second rollers; a biasing member to bias the first roller toward the second roller; a biasing force changer to change a biasing force of the biasing member; control circuitry to, when a predetermined changing condition is met, cause the changer to change the biasing force and cause the rollers to convey the sheet; an operation detector to detect a changing operation of the changer; and a notification device to notify an abnormality of the changing operation when the operation detector detects the abnormality. When the operation detector detects the abnormality, the control circuitry performs sheet conveyance control to cause the rollers to convey the sheet without causing the changer to change the biasing force, regardless of whether the predetermined changing condition is met.
Printer
A printer includes: a conveyor; a printing device; a full-cut unit provided downstream of the printing device; a roller provided downstream of the full-cut unit; a nip member; a motor; and a controller configured to: control the full-cut unit to fully cut the printing medium; control the motor to establish a state in which a leading printing medium is nipped between the roller and the nip member; and control the conveyor to convey a succeeding printing medium downstream while controlling the printing device to perform printing on the succeeding printing medium.
Electronic servo powered pilot release mechanism
In a roller-style feed mechanism, a feed roll is opened and closed for the purpose of pilot release using a direct-coupled servo motor as opposed to pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders. The electronically controlled servo motor drives a rotating shaft with eccentric cams that interact with cam followers causing the feed rollers separate for pilot release. The cam followers produce a force sufficient to overcome nip pressure when separating the feed rollers during pilot release. The electronically controlled servo motor is preferably operative to sense the point where the cams contact the cam followers after the upper feed roller is closed on the feed material, and automatically sense resistance to determine where the upper roll begins to lift so as to compensate for different material thicknesses.
SHEET TRANSPORT APPARATUS AND SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS
A sheet transport apparatus includes a first direction changing roller arranged along a transport path, wherein a sheet is transported along the transport path; a second direction changing roller disposed on the transport path, wherein the first direction changing roller and the second direction changing roller are next to each other in a direction perpendicular to the transport path, and the first direction changing roller and the second direction changing roller change an orientation of the sheet from a first orientation to a second orientation; and a control circuit configured to control one of the first direction changing roller and the second direction changing roller so that the first direction changing roller rotates slower than the second direction changing roller so as to change the orientation of the sheet from the first orientation to the second orientation.
MEDIUM UNIT
A medium unit, having a tray, a casing, and a pullback assembly, is provided. The tray stores a roll of medium, in which a continuous medium is rolled. The casing supports the tray detachably attached thereto. The pullback assembly pushes the continuous medium from a lower side to pull a loose end of the continuous medium unrolled from the roll of medium in conjunction with a detaching action to move the tray to detach from the casing in an orthogonal direction intersecting orthogonally with a rotation axis of the roll of medium.
Bag-making and packaging machine
A bag-making and packaging machine has a film supply unit that supplies film to a bag-making and packaging unit. The film supply unit has a film conveyance mechanism that conveys a first film so that a trailing end portion of the first film heads toward a film splicing position for splicing to a leading end portion of a second film, a first sensor detecting a mark on the first film, a second sensor detecting the mark at downstream, and a controller for the film conveyance mechanism. The controller judges, based on detection of the second sensor, that the trailing end portion of the first film has reached the splicing position and stops conveyance of the first film. The controller controls the conveyance mechanism so that the conveyance speed of the first film before the detection of the mark by the first sensor is faster than the speed after the detection.
MEDIA FEEDING APPARATUS AND IMAGE READING APPARATUS
A media feeding apparatus includes a media mounting section, a first feed roller, a media pressing section for pressing media sheets against the first feed roller, and a pressing force adjuster for adjusting the pressing force of the media pressing section. The controller sets the pressing force of the media pressing section to first pressing force and drives the first feed roller and the second feed roller in a forward rotation direction, and in a case in which the first detector detects a passage of a leading edge of the media sheet and the second detector detects no passage of the leading edge of the media sheet after predetermined first set time has passed, the controller continues the rotation of the first feed roller and the second feed roller with second pressing force of the media pressing section greater than or equal to the first pressing force.
MEDIUM FEEDING APPARATUS, IMAGE READING APPARATUS, AND MEDIUM FEEDING METHOD IN MEDIUM FEEDING APPARATUS
A medium feeding apparatus capable of switching between a first feeding mode and a second feeding mode, in which in the first feeding mode, when a first detection section positioned downstream of a feeding roller in a medium feeding direction detects passage of a trailing end of a preceding medium in a feeding standby state in which driving of the feeding roller that feeds the medium is stopped, starting the driving of the feeding roller to perform feeding of a succeeding medium, and in the second feeding mode, when a second detection section positioned downstream of the first detection section in the medium feeding direction detects the passage of the trailing end of the preceding medium in the feeding standby state, starting the driving of the feeding roller to perform the feeding of the succeeding medium.
RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a recording head that performs recording; a feeding roller that feeds out a medium that has been set, a transport roller that transports the medium fed out by the feeding roller toward a facing position facing the recording head; an auxiliary roller that is provided between the feeding roller and the transport roller and that assists in the transport of the medium; a motor that generates a driving force; and a drive train that is configured to transmit the driving force of the motor to the auxiliary roller and the transport roller.
MEDIA DESKEW APPARATUS AND DESKEW METHODS
A bunch of valuable media items are transported along a track surface within a deskew/pick module of a depository until a bottom item of the bunch covers a track sensor adjacent to an exit. Upper rollers are disengaged from a topmost item of the bunch and lower track-surface rollers are rotated in a direction that is perpendicular to a sidewall forcing a bottommost item of the bunch in alignment to the sidewall. Upper rollers are lowered onto the topmost item and pick rollers are activated to urge the bottommost item through the exit of the module. Upper rollers are raised off the topmost item and lower track-surface rollers are rotated; upper rollers are lowered onto the topmost item and pick rollers are activated to urge a next bottommost item through the exit. This process is repeated until no items are left in the bunch to process.
