GUIDE DEVICE FOR GUIDING A PRINTED MEDIUM ONTO A TAKE-UP ROLL IN A PRINTING SYSTEM
The present invention provides a guide device for guiding print medium onto a take-up roll in a printing system. The guide device comprises a first guide member presenting a substantially planar surface for limiting or preventing lateral deviation of a printed medium output from the printing system as the medium moves along a transport path towards a take-up roll for winding or taking up a length of the medium. The first guide member is stationary in use. A position of the first guide member is adjustable in a direction transverse to the transport path for setting the position to limit or prevent lateral deviation of the medium along the transport path. The guide device further comprises a second guide member presenting a support surface configured and arranged to support the medium thereon as the medium travels along the transport path towards the take-up roll. The first guide member and the second guide member are preferably integrally formed as a guide unit. Further, the invention provides a printing system which incorporates such a guide device.

An apparatus (1) for controlling the unwinding of a web (2) wound on a core is disclosed. The apparatus (1) includes a turnbar (10), an actuator (20), a sensor (30), and a controller (70). The turnbar (10) includes a target location to receive the web (2). The actuator (20) is coupled to the turnbar (10) and includes an axis of movement (29). The sensor (30) measures transverse placement of the web (2) relative to the target location and transmits an input signal to the controller (70) when transverse placement of the web (2) differs from the target location. The controller (70) provides an output signal to the actuator (20 to move the turnbar (10) along the axis of movement (29) such that the web (2) maintains substantial alignment with the target location.

A control device includes a detection unit configured to detect a position of a fed sheet in a direction intersecting with a conveyance direction of the sheet, and a setting unit configured to set a print start position in the direction intersecting with the conveyance direction based on the position of the sheet detected by the detection unit. The detection unit detects the position of the sheet in a case where the sheet is fed from a first feeding unit, and does not detect the position of the sheet in a case where the sheet is fed from a second feeding unit, the first feeding unit and the second feeding unit being among a plurality of feeding units that are different from each other in a distance to a printing unit.

A control device includes a detection unit configured to detect a position of a fed sheet in a direction intersecting with a conveyance direction of the sheet, and a setting unit configured to set a print start position in the direction intersecting with the conveyance direction based on the position of the sheet detected by the detection unit. Conveying device and image forming apparatus
A conveying device includes a conveyor, a detector, and circuitry. The conveyor conveys a recording medium in a conveyance direction. The detector detects a skew amount and a shift amount of a posture of the recording medium to be sent to the conveyor and detects, in parallel, end positions of the recording medium in a width direction of the recording medium intersecting with the conveyance direction, at at least three different points in the conveyance direction on one end of the recording medium in the width direction. The circuitry controls an operation of the conveyor and causes the detector to detect a corner folded portion of the recording medium based on the end positions of the recording medium in the width direction detected at the at least three different points.
Sheet storage device and image formation system including same
A sheet storage device includes a regulation cursor and a hold mechanism. The hold mechanism includes a guide shaft, and a stopper having a guide hole in which the guide shaft is inserted, and being capable of reciprocating with the regulation cursor. When the stopper is inclined to one side, movement of the regulation cursor is restricted. When the stopper is raised to the other side, movement of the regulation cursor is enabled. The stopper has a contact part that contacts the regulation cursor, so as to restrict the stopper from inclining to the other side, when the regulation cursor is enabled to move.

A long medium has a start end, a final end, a first side edge connecting the start end and the final end, and a second side edge connecting the start end and the final end. The long medium includes first reference holes formed at a first pitch along the first side edge, N pieces of first conveyance holes formed along the first side edge at a second pitch smaller than the first pitch, and formed between adjacent first reference holes, in which N is a positive integer, first index holes formed along the first side edge at a third pitch smaller than the first pitch and respectively positioned in first index hole forming areas each set between the adjacent first reference holes, and second reference holes formed at the first pitch along the second side edge.

A apparatus for processing sheets includes: a conveyance unit conveying a sheet; a processing unit provided with processing members processing the sheet along a conveyance direction, and a moving unit moving the processing members in a width direction; and a controller. When a processing position in the width direction to be processed by the processing members is different between a sheet conveyed ahead by the conveyance unit and a subsequent sheet, the controller processes the subsequent sheet by using a processing member having a minimum movement distance from the processing position of the sheet conveyed ahead among the processing members.
SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A first conveying mechanism conveys a sheet. A correction member is provided more on an upstream side of a conveying direction of the sheet than the first conveying mechanism, and includes a contact surface that comes into contact with a side end of the sheet at one end of a conveying path of the sheet in a width direction. A first orientation adjustment mechanism is operated by being input with a drive signal and changes an angle of the contact surface. A second conveying mechanism is provided more on the upstream side of the conveying direction than the correction member, and conveys the sheet toward the contact surface along a direction oblique with respect to the conveying direction. A support member supports the correction member and the first orientation adjustment mechanism. A second orientation adjustment mechanism is capable of changing an orientation of the support member by being operated manually.
