Monofilament line cutting tool
A monofilament line cutting tool is formed by sandwiching a cutting blade between first and second plastic sheets which are thermally bonded to one another. A monofilament line receiving slot in the plastic sheets extends to the blade whereby monofilament line bent into a U-shape may be placed in contact with the blade cutting edge. The plastic sheets are part of spool forming plastic sheet portions which are thermally bonded to one another and shaped into a spool. The plastic sheets forming the tool are selectively pivotable about a live hinge relative to the spool. The plastic sheets can be separated from one another for forming: a sphere generally around the cutting edge; a pair of elongate barrels extending parallel along each side of the monofilament line receiving slot and adjacent the cutting edge; or, a monofilament line receiving cavity extending to the blade cutting edge.
Cable Retainers for Packaging
Cable retainers may include a panel having a pair of loop locks. The loop locks may engage each other to form a loop. The cable retainer may include a first and a second retention loop. Each retention loop may have a finger with a slot formed at a fold line of the finger. Each retention loop may also have a flap with a tab formed at a fold line of the flap. The finger and the flap of the first retention loop may be located directly across the panel from one another. The finger of the second retention loop may be located at a first end of the panel while the flap of the second retention loop may be located at a second end of the panel. The tabs and slots of each retention loop may interlock to form a rectangular cable passage. The cable retainer may be formed entirely of paper and may be formed without adhesive.

The tabs and slots of each retention loop may interlock to form a rectangular cable passage. The cable may also include a reinforcement structure disposed in a retention loop. The reinforcement structure may be stepped reinforcement structure. The cable retainer may be formed entirely of paper and may be formed without and adhesive.
REEL ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING REEL ASSEMBLIES
An improved reel or spool package comprises opposing flange assemblies. Each flange assembly comprises inner and outer parallel members having a connective material in between them. A core interconnects the flange assemblies. One or more rods extends through each end of the center core such that portions of the rods are in contact with the connective material. The connective material connects the inner and outer parallel members of each flange assembly togther and holds the rods in place relative to the core and the parallel members. There is no need for additional fastening devices (e.g., bolts, screws, welds, etc.). The resulting package is extremely strong, even if a paper core is used, and can replace wood or metal reels currently used in many applications.
Sleeve, winding device, and method for repeated, successive winding of webs to form reels of material
The invention describes a sleeve for sliding onto and removing from a winding shaft, which comprises a one-piece workpiece defining a cylinder, which workpiece comprises two edge regions each having an edge, the edge regions overlapping one another, the sleeve having a first diameter in a relaxed state, the sleeve in a clamped state having a second diameter which is different from the first diameter, the sleeve in the clamped state experiencing an elastic deformation as compared to the relaxed state.
PAPER TEXTILE YARN PACKAGE AND BLANK
A textile paper yarn package that has a hollow body with opposing open ends, and formed of a paper blank having an outer end edge positioned on an exterior surface of the body and an inner end edge positioned on an interior surface of the body. The outer end edge of the paper blank forms a lap seam that extends in a spiral shape around a predetermined extent of the exterior of the body as it extends between the opposing open ends of the body of the package.
PAPER TUBE AND ROLLED SHEET USING THE PAPER TUBE
A paper tube that functions as a core of a rolled sheet, the paper tube includes an inside base paper layer at an inside peripheral surface of the paper tube; and an outside base paper layer at an outside peripheral surface of the paper tube, polyphenol and glycerin being impregnated in at least one of the inside base paper layer and the outside base paper layer.
PAPER-MADE REEL
A paper-made reel includes an impeller-like winding drum made of paper, and flange plates made of paper attached to one end and the other end of the winding drum, the winding drum includes a hollow shaft portion core, and a plurality of blade portions extending in radial directions from the shaft portion core, the shaft portion core and the blade portions are integrally formed by folding a sheet, the blade portions are formed in a state where the sheet is double-folded, and the winding drum and the flange plates are connected to each other by locking locking pieces formed at both ends of the winding drum to the flange plates.
Tearable core, a roll including such a core and a tearable core manufacturing method
A tearable core, adapted for winding a sheet product, includes a cylindrical body wall defining a longitudinal hole of longitudinal axis XX. The cylindrical body wall is tearable from an edge, and includes an outer strip and an inner strip that are helically wound on one another and displacedly overlapped in a lateral direction parallel to the longitudinal axis XX, and secured together through their mutually facing surfaces by a first region of attachment. The strips are made of the material having characteristics such that the inner strip and the outer strip are made of cardboard having different water drops. The cylindrical body wall is formed by securing together the outer strip, a first end part of the outer strip of one turn being superposed and secured to a second end part of the outer strip of an adjacent turn through their mutually facing surfaces by a second region of attachment.
Cable reel
A cable reel for retaining a continuous length of cable is preferably constructed using an inexpensive plastic material, such as corrugated plastic. In one embodiment, the cable reel includes a hollow tubular core with a set of outward radial tabs integrally formed at each of its ends. A single, disc-shaped, interior support flange is mounted within the interior of the core in circumferential contact therewith to provide structural rigidity. Additionally, on each end of the core, an annular inner flange and a disc-shaped outer flange are disposed in coaxial alignment with one another against opposing surfaces of its corresponding set of radial tabs and are fixedly secured together as part of the assembly process. The multi-flange construction enables the thickness, diameter and/or material properties of the ends of the cable reel to be adjusted, as needed, to accommodate the strength and dimensional requirements of the intended application.
