An elevator installation in a building includes an elevator control, an elevator car actuated by the elevator control to displace between floors of the building by a drive machine, and elevator operating devices arranged on the floors and connected to the elevator control. One of the elevator operating devices has a control device and a visual display unit, the control device receiving data for an optical code and a floor indicator from the elevator control to control the visual display unit according to the data for the optical code. The visual display unit displays the optical code in a display field. The control device controls the visual display unit to display a floor indicator in the display field, detect a touch of the optical code in the display field by a user and, upon a touch detection, generate an elevator call to a floor represented by the floor indicator.

Handwriting input for elevator destination floor input

An illustrative example elevator system device includes an interface configured to operate in a first mode that allows an elevator passenger to communicate with the elevator system. The elevator passenger may communicate with the elevator system by inputting an indication for desired elevator service or receive an indication regarding elevator service. A magnetically actuated switch selectively causes the interface to operate in a second mode that allows an authorized individual to communicate with the elevator system in a manner that is different than an elevator passenger communication in the first mode. The magnetically activated switch includes at least one magnet and at least one switch contact that changes between an open and closed state based on an interaction between the at least one magnet and a magnetic key brought into proximity of the at least one magnet by the authorized individual.

Methods and systems for making elevator service requests in a building. The method including obtaining a floor plan for the building and overlaying a measurement system of suitable scale onto the floor plan. The method also includes identifying relevant features and their location in the floor plan based on the measurement system, determining a pathway from a user device to a target area in the vicinity of an elevator door based on the relevant features, and computing a travel duration from the user device to the target area. Finally, the method includes assigning an elevator car to a user based on a user service request at the user device and the travel duration.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GENERATING CONTROL DATA FOR CONTROLLING AN ELEVATOR SYSTEM BY MONITORING A THERMAL IMAGE OF AN OPERATING SURFACE
20180282116 · 2018-10-04 ·

A method for generating control data for controlling an elevator system includes the steps: Projecting or depicting an image of an operating panel on an operating surface to be visually perceived by a user; Detecting a region of the surface, touched by the user, within the image by optically monitoring the surface, then detecting whether a small-area region arises within the image with a temperature deviating from the surrounding large-area regions and with a temperature equalizing with the temperature of the surrounding regions over time; Generating the control data as a function of a position of the region touched by the user relative to the image; Transmitting the generated control data to a control device of the elevator system. The method may be implemented using a portable device carried by the user and equipped with a projector and an infrared camera thereby eliminating conventional operating panels in the elevator system.

Elevator signalization apparatus

According to an aspect, there is provided an elevator signalization apparatus. The elevator signalization apparatus comprises first receiving means for receiving floor information representing floor occupancy information associated with a building; output means for indicating floor occupancy to a user; second receiving means for receiving user associated information; and transmitting means for transmitting a control signal to an elevator controller based on the received user associated information.

OPERATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HOIST ELEVATORS

A landing door of an elevator system has a door leaf equipped with an integrated floor display that indicates to a person the floor at which an elevator car approaching the floor of departure is currently located. The door leaf of the landing door has a wall element made of sheet metal, the floor display having at least one controllable light source arranged behind the wall element, and a cover layer. The wall element has a display segment with a plurality of light passage openings, the light passage openings forming a perforated screen structure. The cover layer functions such that after the light source is activated to display the desired floor information, light from the light source penetrates through the light passage openings and the cover layer to the outside and when the light source is deactivated, the cover layer does not let light through to the outside.
