Timber Processing System and Method
A system and method for processing timber into firewood includes in one embodiment a pair of grapples used to place and hold logs in position for cutting, wherein a first grapple is relatively stationary and the second grapple is movable relative to the first, and a cutter is provided adjacent the second grapple on the side of the second grapple opposite the first grapple. A splitter may be provided for splitting the cut pieces into manageable sizes. Alternately, rollers or other log-moving apparatus may be used in place of the second grapple.
Work machine
A work machine includes a ground propulsion apparatus, a undercarriage frame supported by the ground propulsion apparatus, a machine body supported by the undercarriage frame, a work implement attached to at least one of the undercarriage frame and the machine body, and a tilt mechanism. The machine body includes a chassis coupled to the undercarriage frame and a cab supported on the chassis. The tilt mechanism is arranged to tilt the cab relative to the chassis between an upright position and a recumbent position. The tilt mechanism includes an actuator arranged to move the cab relative to the chassis, and a lock arranged to selectively lock the cab in the upright position relative to the chassis.
Grapple Assembly
A grapple assembly for a small tractor, which uses the John Deere front mounted quick hitch system in which the existing angular position cylinder of the quick hitch is repositioned so as to open and close the upper jaw of said grapple. The grapple assembly is compatible with small tractors that utilize the John Deere front mounted quick-hitch as a means to powerfully grasp and lift logs, rocks, boulders, brush, branches, limbs and many other objects, and transport and deposit these objects to a new location with virtually no tools and no physical effort by the operator. The grapple assembly is used for transporting, lifting and holding logs and limbs for cutting.
Log hauler devices, systems, and methods
A log hauler device is provided. In some embodiments, an example log hauler device includes a frame attachable to a small machine, and one or more log hauling components attached to the frame.
Apparatus for cutting and/or handling material to be cut
An apparatus for cutting and/or handling material to be cut, in particular trees, having a pivotable boom arm to which a gripping or cutting head is attached. The boom arm includes a rotatable crane pillar, a first boom pivotably mounted on the rotatable crane pillar about a first pivot axis, a second boom pivotably mounted on the first boom about a second pivot axis. The gripping or cutting head is pivotably mounted on the second boom about a third pivot axis, and a controllable pivoting device is provided, by which the gripping or cutting head can be pivoted about the third pivot axis from a folded-out working position, in which the gripping or cutting head is mounted in front of the second boom, into a folded-in storage position, in which the gripping or cutting head is arranged to the side of the second boom.
