Zero emissions sulphur recovery process with concurrent hydrogen production
Disclosed is a process for the concurrent production of hydrogen and sulphur from a H.sub.2S-containing gas stream, with reduced, and preferably zero, emissions. The method comprises the catalytic oxidative cracking of H.sub.2S so as to form H.sub.2 and S.sub.2. Preferably, the oxidation is conducted using oxygen-enriched air, preferably pure oxygen. The process is conducted in a reaction chamber comprising a bifunctional catalyst material, so as to favor both the partial oxidation of H.sub.2S and the dissociation thereof.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE DESULPHURISATION OF A GAS FLOW
A method and device for the desulphurisation of a hydrogen sulphide-containing gas flow, in particular for combustion in a gas turbine, wherein the gas flow is brought into contact with a washing agent containing a catalytically active component for the absorption of the hydrogen sulphide and forming elementary sulphur, wherein the catalytically active component is reduced in the formation of the elementary sulphur, wherein the washing medium containing the reduced catalytically active component is supplied to a regeneration stage, in which the reduced catalytically active component is converted back via oxidation with an oxygen-containing gas supplied to the regeneration stage, and wherein the oxygen-containing gas is supplied to the regeneration stage from a compressor of a gas turbine. Air from the compressor of a gas turbine is used for purifying a washing medium used for the desulphurisation of a gas flow.
USE OF OFF-GASES RICH IN CARBON MONOXIDE AS FEEDSTOCKS IN STEAM REFORMERS
A method and device for the material use of an off-gas which is rich in carbon monoxide and contains hydrocarbons as well as hydrogenatable sulfur compounds, wherein a sulfur-free reformer feed is formed using the off-gas and is subsequently converted by steam reforming into a hydrogen-containing synthesis gas. According to the invention, the off-gas which is rich in carbon monoxide and contains hydrocarbons as well as hydrogenatable sulfur compounds is heated and subjected to hydrolysis at a temperature between 150 and 250 C., preferably between 150 and 190 C., in order to convert the hydrogenatable sulfur compounds with catalytic support into hydrogen sulfide, and to obtain an off-gas which is free of hydrogenatable sulfur compounds and which is subsequently desulfurized over a fixed bed containing zinc oxide.
PYROLYSIS GAS TREATMENT INCLUDING HALOGEN AND/OR SULFUR REMOVAL
Processes and facilities for recovering and purifying a pyrolysis gas formed by pyrolyzing waste plastic are provided. One or more treatment processes may be used to treat the pyrolysis gas for use in one or more downstream chemical recycling processes. which can be used in forming a variety of recycled content products. The treatment processes may include a halogen removal system and/or a sulfur removal system.
Heterogeneous catalyst for hydrocarbon sweetening
A two or particularly three-phase process, and corresponding apparatus, desulfurizes sour hydrocarbon gas, e.g., natural gas, generally better than known, using a fixed-bed, two-phase processes in terms of the amount of H.sub.2S scavenged and the breakthrough time of H.sub.2S. The three-phase process is effective in scavenging H.sub.2S at ambient temperature and pressure, using a copper salt catalyst impregnated on alumina or other generally inert support, which is regenerable.
