Aeration device for bioreactors with an aeration element with gas outlet openings arranged in a housing, the aeration element taking the form of a microsparger, the gas outlet openings of which are in each case spaced apart from one another and have a size of between 100 m and 200 m. At least one second aeration element with gas outlet openings of a second size is preferably provided, the aeration elements being formed by a common housing with separate aeration channels.
Screw conveyor
A screw conveyor for mixing a gas into a liquid and a mixing apparatus including the screw conveyor are disclosed. The screw conveyor includes a helical element having a screw core having a longitudinal axis, a primary spiral including a plurality of primary coils and a secondary spiral supported on the primary spiral and including a plurality of secondary coils. The primary spiral and secondary spiral include a plurality of primary coils and second coils in succession. The secondary spiral is slidably rotatable on the primary spiral. The screw conveyor includes at least one deflector spanning each pair of consecutive primary and secondary coils, wherein the longitudinal axis of each deflector is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the screw core, the deflectors are simultaneously rotatable while maintaining their longitudinal axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the screw core.
FLUID MIXING SYSTEMS INCLUDING HELICAL MIXING ASSEMBLY WITH IMPELLER ATTACHMENT AND METHODS OF USE
The present set of embodiments relate to a bioproduction system, method, and apparatus for mixing a fluid. The bioproduction mixing system includes an offset helical assembly having a stabilizer and impeller for mixing a fluid within a flexible compartment The bioproduction mixing system is designed for efficient mixing of the fluid and for use with a variety of different impellers that can be located at different locations according to the volume and shape characteristics of the flexible compartment. The bioproduction mixing system is optimized to eliminate stagnation zones while maximizing bulk fluid flow.
CONFIGURABLE FLUID MIXING SYSTEM HOUSING AND SUPPORT HARDWARE
The present set of embodiments relate a system, method, and various devices for installation of a bioproduction system. The bioproduction system includes a rigid housing having a moveable platform to assist in the installation of a bioprocessing container within. The system also includes mounting systems for a variety of peripherals originating from the flexible container while safeguarding operators. More specifically, the system includes systems and methods for mounting bearings, organizing tube sets, and placement of the flexible container in its proper orientation.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CELL CULTURE SCALING
The present set of embodiments relate to a bioproduction system, method, and apparatus for creating a scalable bioreactor system. Specifically, the present set of embodiments enable the determination of bioreaction performance characteristics of a commercial scale by matching operational parameters between a small test scale bioreaction to that of a commercial scale bioreaction. The system and methods do not rely on simply making bioreactor apparatuses across scales the same dimensionally which would not account for differences in fluid dynamic properties between very small to very large volumes, but requires tuning of a variety of systems (mixing assembly, sparger system, and headspace airflow system) in conjunction with one another to achieve predictive outcomes.
Device ad method for loading a liquid with a gas
A device for loading an in particular higher-viscosity liquid, such as a silicon resin, for example, with air or another gas. The device has a pressure vessel receiving the liquid and the gas, in which pressure vessel an agitator, having a drive shaft set through the pressure vessel at least in part, is arranged. In order to enable the particularly fast and homogeneous intermixing of the liquid and gas, the drive shaft is arranged in a conveying pipe and drives a conveying organ, in particular a screw conveyor, which transports the liquid through the conveying pipe to at least one outlet, and there is an running-off surface underneath the outlet from the conveying pipe for the liquid flowing out of the outlet. Upon actuation of the agitator, the liquid is thus not only well intermixed together with the air already received therein, but at the same time conveyed through the conveying pipe to the running-off surface, on which it can discharge in a thin layer and has a particularly large exchange area with the gas as a result.
Gas-liquid dispersion impeller assembly with annular-sector-shaped concave blades
The invention discloses an agitation device comprising an impeller, an agitating shaft and a power device. The impeller includes a disc, a hub and concave blades. Each blade consists of a concave surface which extends radially and has an annular sector-like shape, the projections of the upper and lower portions of the blade in the horizontal plane are two annular sectors, and the radian of the annular sector obtained by the projection of the upper portion is larger than that of the lower portion, and the annular sector-like shape and the rotation direction of blades are the same, so that each portion of the blades directly faces an incoming flow, the utilization efficiency of blades is increased and the impeller has low energy consumption and high gas-liquid dispersion efficiency. The device is efficient and energy-saving, has low power consumption, high mixing performance and high gas holdup and mass transfer performance.
Heat exchanger system with flexible bag
A bag assembly for use with a heat exchanger includes a flexible bag having of one or more sheets of polymeric material, the bag having a first end that bounds a first compartment and an opposing second end that bounds a second compartment, a support structure being disposed between the first compartment and the second compartment so that the first compartment is separated and isolated from the second compartment. A first inlet port, a first outlet port, and a first drain port are coupled with the flexible bag so as to communicate with the first compartment. A second inlet port, a second outlet port, and a second drain port are coupled with the flexible bag so as to communicate with the second compartment.
