Interaction chambers with reduced cavitation
Apparatuses and methods that reduce cavitation in interaction chambers are described herein. In an embodiment, an interaction chamber for a fluid processor or fluid homogenizer includes an inlet chamber having an inlet hole and a bottom end, an outlet chamber having an outlet hole and a top end, a microchannel placing the inlet hole in fluid communication with the outlet hole, wherein an entrance to the microchannel from the inlet chamber is offset a distance from the bottom end, and at least one of: (i) a tapered fillet located on a side wall of the microchannel at the microchannel entrance; (ii) a side wall of the microchannel converging inwardly from the inlet chamber to the outlet chamber; (iii) a top wall and/or bottom wall of the microchannel angled from the inlet chamber to the outlet chamber; and (iv) a top fillet that extends around a diameter of inlet chamber.
Overturning device for overturning molten material and purging method
The present invention relates to an overturning device (10) for overturning a molten material (200) in a melt channel (110) comprising a melt inlet (20) and a melt outlet (30), wherein between the melt inlet (20) and the melt outlet (30) at least one melt guiding means (40) is assembled for a rearrangement of molten material (200) from the centre (22) of the melt inlet (20) to the edge (34) of the melt outlet (30) and for a rearrangement of molten material (200) from the edge (24) of the melt inlet (20) into the centre (32) of the melt outlet (30).
Fluid Flow Device
A micro-fluidic flow device and method. The device includes a conduit having an inlet and an outlet distal from the inlet. The conduit further includes a plurality of constrictions each having a reduction in a cross-sectional area of the conduit in a direction from the inlet to the outlet. The constrictions are arranged in series and the reduction in cross-sectional area at each of the constrictions is sufficient to induce extensional flow in a fluid travelling therethrough, such that the maximum strain rate in the extensional flow region is at least 500 s.sup.1.
Micro-channel reaction apparatus
A micro-channel reaction apparatus includes a first mixing device and a first jetting device. The first mixing device includes a first inflow channel and a second inflow channel respectively used to direct a first fluid and a second fluid into the micro-channel reaction apparatus. The first jetting device includes a first tapering portion and a first flared portion, wherein one end of the first tapering portion is connected to the first inflow channel and the second inflow channel; another end of the first tapering portion is connected to the first flared portion; and the first tapering portion has a contract ratio of inner diameter ranging from 0.1 to 0.75.
MICRO ELECTRICAL MECHANICAL SYSTEM (MEMS) MULTIPLEXING MIXING
A MEMS multiplexing system including: first and second fluid inputs; and a mixing network. The mixing network including: a first channel to receive the first fluid input; a second channel to receive the second fluid input; a multiplexing valve communicating with the first channel and the second channel, the multiplexing valve to cause the transport of the first fluid into the second channel so as to form a first interleaved fluid downstream from the multiplexing valve in the second channel and to cause the transport of the second fluid into the first channel so as to form a second interleaved fluid downstream from the multiplexing valve in the first channel; and the first channel and the second channel intersecting downstream from the valve so as to force mixing of the first interleaved fluid and the second interleaved fluid.

MELT CONDUCTOR FOR AN EXTRUSION TOOL OF AN EXTRUSION SYSTEM, EXTRUSION TOOL, EXTRUSION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING AN EXTRUSION SYSTEM OF THIS TYPE

NON AGGREGATING MICROFLUIDIC MIXER AND METHODS THEREFOR
Provided is a microfluidic mixing platform with a first and a second input port; a first output port; a flow path interconnecting the first input port, the second input port and the first output port; a first switch valve downstream of the first input port and upstream of the first output port, and a second switch valve downstream of the second input port and upstream of the first output port; and a first mixing feature downstream of the first and second switch valves and upstream of the first output port. The first switch valve is switchable between a first state and a second state, and in the second state the first switch valve prevents the first input port from being fluidly connected to the first mixing feature. The second switch valve operates in a similar way in the second state.
Continuous flow microfluidic system
The present disclosure is directed towards improved systems and methods for large-scale production of nanoparticles used for delivery of therapeutic material. The apparatus can be used to manufacture a wide array of nanoparticles containing therapeutic material including, but not limited to, lipid nanoparticles and polymer nanoparticles. In certain embodiments, continuous flow operation and parallelization of microfluidic mixers contribute to increased nanoparticle production volume.

A fine bubble generator may include an inlet; an outlet; a first fine bubble generation portion; and a second fine bubble generation portion. The first fine bubble generation portion includes: a diameter-reducing flow path and a diameter-increasing flow path. The second fine bubble generation portion includes: a first swirling flow generation portion; and a second swirling flow generation portion. The first swirling flow generation portion includes: a first outer peripheral portion; and a plurality of first vanes disposed configured to generate a first swirling flow flowing in a first swirling direction with respect to a center axis of the second fine bubble generation portion. The second swirling flow generation portion includes: a second outer peripheral portion; and a plurality of second vanes configured to generate a second swirling flow flowing in a second swirling direction opposite to the first swirling direction with respect to the center axis.
