Provided in one example is a microfluidic device comprising: a first fluidic input and a second fluidic input; and a fluidic intersection channel to receive fluid from the first fluidic input and the second fluidic input, wherein the fluidic intersection channel opens into a first mixing chamber on an upper region of a first side of the first mixing chamber, wherein the first mixing chamber has a length, a width, and a depth, wherein the depth is greater than about 1.5 times a depth of the fluidic intersection channel; an outlet channel on an upper region of a second side of the first mixing chamber, wherein the outlet channel has a depth that is less than the depth of the first mixing chamber, and wherein an opening of the outlet channel is offset along a width of the second side of the first mixing chamber relative to the fluidic intersection.
HYDRATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A substantially continuous stream of aqueous fluid and a substantially continuous stream of gel having a first concentration are combined to form a substantially continuous stream of gel having a second concentration. The second concentration is substantially lower than the first concentration. The gel having the second concentration may thereafter be utilized in conjunction with a well fracturing operation.
MIXER FOR CHROMATOGRAPHY SYSTEM
Described is a mixer for a chromatography system. The mixer includes an inlet manifold channel, an outlet manifold channel and a plurality of transfer channels. The inlet manifold channel has an inlet at a proximal end of the inlet manifold channel for receiving an inlet flow. The transfer channels are fluidly connected between the inlet and outlet manifold channels. The respective fluid connections are distributed along each of the inlet and outlet manifolds channels. The transfer channels have different volumes. The mixer may be formed of a plurality of layer and the layers may be diffusion bonded to each other.

An apparatus to realize personalized cosmetic compositions including a formula supply assembly having a plurality of additive reservoirs that contains a plurality of additive substances, a plurality of additive pumps that supplies selected additive quantities of the plurality of additive substances, a base reservoir that contains a base substance, and a base pump that supplies a base quantity of the base substance and a mixing assembly having an additive inlet that receives the selected additive quantities, a base inlet that receives the base quantity, and a mixing channel that mixes the additive quantities with the base quantity to form the personalized cosmetic compositions.
Method of detecting test substance, sample analysis cartridge, and sample analyzer
In a method of detecting a test substance, a test substance is detected using a sample analysis cartridge supplied with a sample. The sample analysis cartridge includes: a passage part having a gas-phase space; and liquid containers communicating with the passage part through openings. The liquid containers include: a first liquid container containing a first liquid containing magnetic particles; and a second liquid container containing a second liquid containing a labeled substance. The magnetic particles are sequentially transported to the liquid containers through the gas-phase space in the passage part. Thus, the magnetic particles carry a complex of the test substance and the labeled substance. The test substance is detected based on the labeled substance in the complex.
Mixing device for mixing a spray from an injector into a gas and system comprising same
A mixing device includes a mixing cavity having a partially open wall and a closed wall. In certain examples, the partially open wall and the closed wall are two separately formed pieces. A downstream side of the mixing device is shaped so as to define a helicoidal groove for circumferentially guiding gas from an outlet opening of the mixing cavity in a downstream direction. An injector sprays reactant into the mixing cavity.
Adapter and method of mixing constituents of a pharmaceutical complex via an adapter
An adapter for connecting one or more storage containers with a syringe is described. The adapter includes a first port that provide a connection with a first container volume, a second port that provides a connection with a second container volume, a third port that provides a connection to a syringe. The adapter further includes a mixing channel extending from a first end in fluid communication with the third port to a second end. The mixing channel includes a tortuous path along at least a portion of its length. The mixing channel enables two constituents of a pharmaceutical complex to be mixed through the mixing channel to form the pharmaceutical complex. Also disclosed is a system including such an adapter, a method of mixing two constituents of a pharmaceutical complex via such an adapter and a method of manufacturing such an adapter.
Metering arrangement in a capillary driven fluid system and method for the same
The disclosure relates to an arrangement (100) in a capillary driven fluid system for metering a predetermined volume of sample fluid. The arrangement comprises a sample reservoir (SR) arranged to receive a sample fluid, a first channel (C1) which is in fluid communication with the sample reservoir (SR) and which branches off into a second channel (C2) ending at a first valve (V1) and a third channel (C3) ending at a second valve (V2). The second channel (C2) and the third channel (C3) together have a predetermined volume, and the first channel (C1) is arranged to draw sample fluid from the sample reservoir (SR) by use of capillary forces to fill the second channel (C2) and the third channel (C3) with the predetermined volume of sample fluid. By selectively opening the first valve (V1) and the second valve (V2), a capillary driven flow may be formed, thereby causing the predetermined volume of sample fluid to flow out through the first valve (V1).
