The system is provided for generating a mixed methane gas feed stream using at least one source of biogas and an alternate source of methane gas. The system includes a biogas subsystem, a control device for the methane gas from the at least one alternate source of methane gas, and a vertically-extending gas mixing vessel. A method of controlling a methane gas mass flow rate of a mixed methane gas feed stream is also disclosed. The proposed concept is particularly well adapted for situations where an uninterrupted and relatively constant input of methane gas is required to ensure an optimum operation of, for instance, a LMG production plant.

We disclose an apparatus (2) for supplying a particulate material (4) at a target mass flow rate, the apparatus comprising an entrainment region (6) configured to entrain the particulate material (4) in a gas or gas mixture flowing through the entrainment region (6), a cross-sectional area of at least a part of the entrainment region being adjustable based on the particulate material (4) and a supply device (8) configured to supply the particulate material (4) to the entrainment region (6) at approximately or at the target mass flow rate.

Batching method and system

A batching system involves a vessel, a mixer, a pump, and an optical sensor, wherein the vessel, the mixer, the pump and the optical sensor are coupled together by piping so as to form a circuit within which materials will re-circulate while being mixed by the mixer until at least one reading from the optical sensor indicates that the materials are fully mixed. An associated batching method involves introducing into a vessel, via gravity feed through mass flow meters, multiple materials to be mixed, repeatedly circulating the materials through a mixer, a pump, a spectroscope and the vessel until a reading from the optical sensor indicates that the multiple materials are fully mixed, and once the multiple materials are fully mixed, dispensing the fully mixed materials into at least one package container using an articulated arm.
