PENTASIL-TYPE ZEOLITE AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR

Provided are a pentasil-type zeolite that is less likely to adsorb water compared to conventional zeolites and has excellent strength when used as a molded body, and a method for producing the pentasil-type zeolite.

A pentasil-type zeolite having a water adsorption amount of 4.0 g/100 g-zeolite or less under the conditions of 25° C. and a relative humidity of 90% and having a major axis diameter of primary particles of from 0.2 μm to 4.0 μm, and a method for producing the pentasil-type zeolite.

A method of forming an SSZ-13 zeolite in a hydrothermal synthesis yields an SSZ-13 zeolite that exhibits a silica to alumina (SiO.sub.2:Al.sub.2O.sub.3) molar ratio (SAR) that is less than 16:1; has a morphology that includes one or more of cubic, spheroidal, or rhombic particles with a crystal size that is in the range of about 0.1 micrometer (μm) to 10 μm. This SSZ-13 also exhibits a Brönsted acidity that is in the range of 2.0 mmol/g to 3.4 mmol/g as measured by ammonia temperature programmed desorption. A catalyst formed by substituting a metal into the framework of the zeolite provides for low temperature light-off of the NOx conversion reactions, while maintaining substantial performance at higher temperatures demonstrating hydrothermal stability.

Composite adsorbent for separation of ethylbenzene by adsorption distillation and application thereof

A composite adsorbent for separating ethylbenzene from C8 arene by an adsorption distillation contains 1-50 mass % of a xylene adsorbent and 50-99 mass % of a carrier liquid. The carrier liquid is selected from one or two of alkane, aryl-substituted alkane, decalin and alkyl-substituted decalin. The alkane is C10-C26 alkane, and the aryl-substituted alkane is C13-C16 aryl-substituted alkane. The composite adsorbent can increase the volatility of ethylbenzene relative to other C8 arenes and thus can separate a high-purity ethylbenzene from C8 arene by the adsorption distillation.

SELECTIVE SEPARATION OF NAPHTHENES FOR PRODUCTION OF ENHANCED VISCOSITY INDEX LUBE BASE STOCKS

This disclosure provides methods for separating multi-ring naphthenes from a hydrocarbon feedstock. The hydrocarbon feedstock includes at least normal paraffins, isoparaffins, 1-ring naphthenes attached with a paraffinic alkyl chain, and multi-ring naphthenes. The methods comprise passing the hydrocarbon feedstock and a solvent, at a temperature and pressure through a bed of an adsorbent comprising a metal-organic framework (MOF) adsorbent, to adsorb the multi-ring naphthenes from the hydrocarbon feedstock, thereby producing a base stock product that is depleted in multi-ring naphthenes. The metal-organic framework adsorbent is a porous crystalline material comprised of metal functionalities connected by organic linkers to form a repeating 2-D or 3-D lattice. The base stock product has a viscosity index (VI) greater than the viscosity index of the hydrocarbon feedstock. The methods of this disclosure upgrade Group II base stocks (also Group II+ base stocks) to Group III or Group III+ base stocks, and also upgrade Group III base stocks to Group III+ base stocks.

Carbon dioxide adsorbents

A carbon dioxide adsorbent including a hierarchical zeolite. The hierarchical zeolite defines micropores having a pore width between about 0.4 nm and about 2 nm, and at least one of: mesopores having a pore width between about 2 nm and about 50 nm; and macropores having a pore width greater than about 50 nm.

The present disclosure is directed to processes for the selective separation of carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) from multi-component feedstreams containing CO.sub.2. The processes use a potassium-form MER framework type zeolite having a stick-like morphology. The potassium is present in the zeolite as K.sup.+ in extra-framework locations, and the zeolite is essentially free of an extra-framework cation other than potassium.

MOLECULAR SIEVE COMPLEX, COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND APPLICATION THEREOF

A molecular sieve complex contains an oxide of aluminum, an oxide of an alkaline earth metal and a rare earth-modified molecular sieve. The rare earth-modified molecular sieve is a molecular sieve doped by a rare earth element. The percentage of the pore volume occupied by pores of 3 nm or less to the total pore volume in the molecular sieve complex is greater than or equal to 63.5%. The content of the rare earth element and the contents of the oxide of aluminum, the oxide of the alkaline earth metal and the molecular sieve satisfy a certain relationship. The composite material contains a molecular sieve complex and an auxiliary agent loaded on the molecular sieve complex, and the composite material may be applied to flue gas adsorption and desulfurization.
