A precious metal-supported eggshell catalyst with a preparation method and an application are provided. The precious metal-supported eggshell catalyst includes a carrier, a precious metal and a promoter. As an active component, the precious metal and the promoter are evenly distributed on surface of the carrier, wherein the promoter includes one or more than two of a precious metal, an alkaline earth metal, a transition metal lanthanide series metal, an actinium series metal and/or a metal oxide thereof. With a highly utilization of the precious metal, the precious metal-supported eggshell catalyst showed high conversion, good selectivity and excellent stability, and the precious metal-supported eggshell catalyst is used more than 300 hours with no obvious loss of activity in preparing 1,3-propanediol through hydrogenation of 3-hydroxypropionaldehyde aqueous solution. Furthermore, with large particles the precious metal-supported eggshell catalyst is easily separated from reaction products.

Copper-iron-based catalytic composition comprising zeolites, method for producing such catalytic composition and process using such catalytic composition for the conversion of syngas to higher alcohols

The present disclosure relates to a catalyst composition comprising copper and iron on a support for use in a process for the synthesis of higher alcohols from a syngas feed stream comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide, the catalyst composition being remarkable in that the support is one or more zeolite, in that the total content of iron and copper is ranging from 1 to 10 wt. % based on the total weight of the catalyst composition and as determined by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy, in that the Cu/Fe bulk molar ratio is ranging from 1.1:1.0 to 5.0:1.0 as determined by XRF spectroscopy.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to zeolites and method for making such zeolites. According to embodiments disclosed herein, a zeolite may have a microporous framework including a plurality of micropores having diameters of less than or equal to 2 nm and a plurality of mesopores having diameters of greater than 2 nm and less than or equal to 50 nm. The microporous framework may include an MFI framework type. The microporous framework may include silicon atoms, aluminum atoms, oxygen atoms, and transition metal atoms. The transition metal atoms may be dispersed throughout the entire microporous framework.

Disclosed herein are modified zeolites and methods for making modified zeolites. In one or more embodiments disclosed herein, a modified zeolite may include a microporous framework including a plurality of micropores having diameters of less than or equal to 2 nm. The microporous framework may include at least silicon atoms and oxygen atoms. The modified zeolite may further include organometallic moieties each bonded to a nitrogen atom of a secondary amine functional group comprising a nitrogen atom and a hydrogen atom. The organometallic moieties may comprise a hafnium atom that is bonded to the nitrogen atom of the secondary amine functional group. The nitrogen atom of the secondary amine function group may bridge the hafnium atom of the organometallic moiety and a silicon atom of the microporous framework.

A process to catalytically transform natural gas liquid (NGL) into higher molecular weight hydrocarbons includes providing an NGL stream, catalytically dehydrogenating at least a portion of the NGL stream components to their corresponding alkene derivatives, catalytically oligomerizing at least a portion of the alkenes to higher molecular weight hydrocarbons and recovering the higher molecular weight hydrocarbons. The NGL stream can be extracted from a gas stream such as a gas stream coming from shale formations. The higher molecular weight hydrocarbons can be hydrocarbons that are liquid at ambient temperature and ambient pressure.
