A tramp metal removing device has a primary housing to define a product flow path for being passed by a stream of raw materials and a moving path. A secondary housing is connected to the primary housing. A plurality of drawer units are sequentially stacked on the primary housing and secondary housing. Each drawer unit has a frame, a plurality of magnetic members and a scraping assembly. The frame is coupled with the primary and secondary housings in a movable way. Each of magnetic members is secured on the frame and has a magnetic section and a non-magnetic section. The scraping assembly is coupled with the frame in a way that it is only moveable in the secondary housing for removing tramp metals of a stream of raw materials in a two-stage manner.

A pneumatically-operated magnetic separator captures magnetic contaminants from process fluids. Process fluids are used in many industrial operations for various purposes. The pneumatically-operated magnetic separator can include a housing wall, a first flange plate assembly, a second flange plate assembly, a main fluid passage, tubes, and shuttles. The first and second flange plate assemblies can each include a pair of flange plates. The tubes extend between the first and second flange plate assemblies, and the shuttles are situated in the tubes. Each of the shuttles includes one or more magnets. During use, the shuttles move longitudinally in the tubes in response to pneumatic actuation and de-actuation, per an example. Weldments attach the tubes and the first and second flange plate assemblies together.

A conveyor guide may be located inside of the endless loop adjacent the discharge end. The conveyor guide may be configured to support the conveyor belt such that the conveyor belt slides on the conveyor guide along a downwardly curved path. An array of magnets may be arranged inside of the endless loop for interacting with the stream of articles as the stream of articles passes off the discharge end.

A magnetic tool may be provided with a ditch magnet that may include end plates (or handles) having a mostly open architecture, and these end plates may be permanently affixed to the ends of the magnetic bar. Ferrous metal may pass through by urging captured ferrous metal from one end of the ditch magnet to the opposite end. The captured ferrous metal may be urged from one end of the ditch magnet bar to an opposite end using a composite, multi-component wiper. The wiper may remove captured ferrous metal safely and effectively from the ditch magnet bar.

The present invention relates to a method for separating biomolecules from a liquid medium. The method comprises adding magnetic nanoparticles to the liquid medium comprising the biomolecules, the biomolecules each adapted to bind to respective surfaces of the magnetic nanoparticles; bringing the liquid medium to which the magnetic nanoparticles have been added into contact with a collector; applying a magnetic field to the liquid medium in contact with the collector to attract the magnetic nanoparticles ound with the biomolecules to a surface of the collector; and applying an electric potential to the surface of the collector to release the biomolecules from the magnetic nanoparticles.
