A metal-strip rapid cooling apparatus includes a cooling fluid ejection device including one set of nozzles or a plurality of sets of nozzles arranged in a horizontal direction, and configured to eject a cooling fluid onto the metal strip from both sides of the metal strip; cooling fluid removing rolls configured to remove a remaining fluid from the metal strip onto which the cooling fluid has been ejected; and movable masking plates on both sides of a metal strip pass line along which the metal strip passes, the movable masking plates each disposed between the metal strip pass line and the nozzles, and configured to move in the horizontal direction to adjust a cooling start position and control a distance from the cooling start position to the cooling fluid removing rolls, the cooling start position positioned such that the metal strip starts to be cooled with the cooling fluid.

Method and apparatus for cooling hot-rolled steel strip
Provided are a cooling method and a cooling apparatus that, in the cooling of a hot-rolled steel strip, regulates the amount of cooling water in a two-stage manner for each set of headers in the width direction and changes the rate at which the steel strip is cooled, in a multistage manner by a simple method, and that is effective particularly in cooling the lower surface of the steel strip, where space is narrow. The spray nozzles 5 are arranged in a row in the width direction of the steel strip at a predetermined pitch. Two systems of cooling headers 6 are arranged for one set so that spray nozzles 5 adjacent in the width direction can be supplied with cooling water from different pipe systems, and a spray valve 7 is attached to each cooling header 7 so that spraying/stop of spraying of cooling water can be individually performed.
Method for producing a metal strip
A method for producing a metal strip, in which the strip is rolled in a multi-stand rolling mill, is removed behind the final rolling stand of the rolling mill in the direction of conveyance, and is cooled in a cooling device. The strip or metal sheet is subjected to additional rapid cooling immediately after passing the working rollers of the final rolling stand, wherein the strip or the metal sheet is cooled at least partially within the extent of the final rolling stand in the direction of conveyance, wherein rapid cooling is performed by applying a coolant to the strip or metal sheet from above and from below, wherein the volume flow of coolant that is applied to the strip or metal sheet from below measures at least 120% of the volume flow of coolant that is applied to the strip or metal sheet from above.

The present cooling device includes: when cooling regions obtained by dividing an entire cooling region into a plurality of portions in a steel sheet conveyance direction and three or more portions in a width direction are set as divided cooling surfaces, a cooling water nozzle 23 and a switching device that switches between collision and non-collision of cooling water jetted from the cooling water nozzle 23 with the divided cooling surface, the cooling water nozzle 23 and the switching device provided for each of the divided cooling surfaces; and a control device that controls operation of the switching device based on a width-direction temperature distribution. The cooling water nozzle 23 has a jet axis P inclined with respect to a vertical line to the entire cooling region when viewed in the steel sheet conveyance direction, and the cooling water goes to the side opposite to the cooling water nozzle 23 in the width direction after colliding with the divided cooling surface.

COOLING UNIT OF A LAMINAR COOLING DEVICE
A cooling group for a laminar cooling device, including at least one cooling unit arranged above and below a strip to be cooled in order to supply the strip with a cooling liquid, including a central inlet via which cooling liquid is supplied, a distributing tube supplied with cooling liquid by the central inlet, and a number of supplying units supplied with cooling liquid from the distributing tube. Each supplying unit has a number of cooling nozzles via which cooling liquid is discharged onto the strip. In order to minimize the influence of the number of supplying units which are switched on or switched off, and thus have as little expenditure as possible, a volumetric flow rate regulating valve is arranged in or in front of the central inlet. The regulating valve is used to conduct a defined volume of cooling liquid through the central inlet per unit of time.
Systems and methods for quenching a metal strip after rolling
Systems and methods of quenching a metal substrate include cooling a top surface and a bottom surface of the metal substrate until a strip temperature is cooled to an intermediate temperature. Cooling of the top surface of the metal substrate is discontinued when the strip temperature reaches the intermediate temperature, and cooling of the bottom surface of the metal substrate continues until the metal substrate reaches a target temperature, where the target temperature is less than the intermediate temperature.

A cooling bar (1) for cooling rolled material (5) being moved in a transport direction (3) and in particular for reducing temperature differences in the temperature of the rolled material (5) transversely to the direction of transport (3). The cooling bar (1) has several full jet nozzles (11) by means of which a coolant beam of a coolant with an approximately constant jet diameter can be distributed to the rolling stock (5) in the direction of distribution (15). A cooling device has at least two cooling bars (1) of that type. The cooling bars extend transversely to a transport direction, one behind the other. Each cooling bar has a respective different pattern of jet nozzles and selection of applicable pattern of jet nozzles in their respective bars selectively cools the rolled material transversely to the transport direction.
