SCREWDRIVER WITH SCREW RETENTION MECHANISM
20170305000 · 2017-10-26 ·

A screwdriver for resisting premature disengagement of a screw from the screwdriver. The screwdriver includes a shaft having a central axis; a tip radially aligned with the central axis of the shaft which includes an end opposite the shaft, at least one radial protrusion extending away from the central axis, and a notch; and a screw retention mechanism including a flexible member aligned with the notch and attached to either the tip or the shaft. The flexible member has an unattached end which is separated from the second end of the tip. When the tip is inserted into a recess of a screw, the flexible member flexes toward the central axis and creates an opposing elastic force which holds the screw to the tip.

COMPLIANT INSERTER FOR IMPLANTS

An improved implant inserter, and method of using same, with an elongated, substantially rigid shaft having a proximal surface which is capable of receiving a driving force, and a substantially rigid tip portion having a distal end and a proximal end. At least the distal end of the tip portion is capable of being placed within an implant such as a suture anchor. The inserter further includes a compliant region disposed between the tip portion and the shaft which requires less lateral force to bend than the tip portion, at least when the tip portion has been placed within the implant.

A temporary tightening tool includes a grip part and a socket part into which a bolt head part is inserted. The socket part is formed in a shape of a hexagonal tube surrounded by six side walls, a hook part, which is a leaf spring part, is formed in each of alternate three side walls among the six side walls, and a thick torque transmission part is formed in each of three remaining side walls without the hook part. When the bolt head part is inserted in the socket part, the hook part is elastically deformed, and holds the hold bolt head part with restoring force. Torque input into the grip part is transmitted to the bolt head part from the torque transmission wall.

Fastener-installation systems and methods

A fastener-installation system is described that includes a driver to drive a fastener into a structure and a fastener feeder to load the fastener into a loaded position of the driver. The fastener feeder includes a fastener magazine to hold a plurality of fasteners. The fastener-installation system further includes a driver head having a plurality of jaws moveable between a closed position and an expanded position. In the closed position, the plurality of jaws form a piercing tip to pierce material of the structure. Further, the jaws spread apart the material of the structure when the jaws move from the closed position to the expanded position to create a path through the material through which the fastener is driven.

Objective Capacity for retaining a fastening member should be improved to raise workability.

Means for Solution A temporary tightening tool 1 comprises a grip part 10 and a socket part 20 into which a bolt head part HB1 is inserted. The socket part 20 is formed in a shape of a hexagonal tube surrounded by six side walls, a hook part 42, which is a leaf spring part, is formed in each of alternate three side walls among the six side walls, and a thick torque transmission part is formed in each of three remaining side walls without the hook part 42, When the bolt head part HB1 is inserted in the socket part 20, the hook part 42 is elastically deformed, and holds the hold bolt head part HB1 with restoring force. Torque input into the grip part 10 is transmitted to the bolt head part HB1 from the torque transmission wall 30.
