METHOD FOR REDUCING LABEL WASTE USING A CUTTING APPARATUS
A method of reducing label waste that employs a stand-alone or printer attached apparatus for cleanly and efficiently cutting a web of media or tag stock into individual units. The apparatus used by the method may cut vinyl, plastic, or RFID stock material in both back and forth directions without sacrificing cut quality, and preferably comprises a housing, a carriage assembly and a movable cutter assembly. The cutter assembly comprises a cutting element such as a wheel blade, and a pressure adjusting element for adjusting the amount of pressure applied by the cutting element to the stock material. Alternatively, the cutter assembly may be manufactured with a predetermined pressure load, but still permit an operator to adjust the depth of cut. The method involves using the cutting apparatus to make a series of cuts as the label material is incrementally advanced through the cutting apparatus.
CUTTING DEVICE AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A cutting portion (cutting device) includes a fixed blade that extends in an intersecting direction (X axis direction) intersected with a transport direction transporting a roll paper, and a round blade that cuts the roll paper by relatively moving in the intersecting direction (X axis direction) with respect to the fixed blade in a state of being abutted on the fixed blade, in which the fixed blade extends over a portion of a range where the round blade relatively moves, and the round blade is in a separation state of being separated from the fixed blade in the transport direction when entering a region facing the fixed blade (cutting operation region) from a region not facing the fixed blade (standby region).
Apparatus and method for trimming a print sheet, and registering the location of an image
An apparatus and method are provided for trimming a print sheet and registering the location of an image on the print sheet. The apparatus may include a sensor system arranged to detect a guide line on the print sheet to align the print sheet relative to a cutter. The sensor system emits first and second light beams through the print sheet, and a controller is configured to detect the presence of the guide line through the light beams to align the guide line on the print sheet relative to the cutter. The apparatus may also include a vacuum chamber extending through a plate, with a float positioned within the vacuum chamber. In a first configuration, a vacuum is drawn in the chamber moving the float within the vacuum chamber away from the base such that a print sheet is moveably receivable between the plate and the base. In a second configuration, a positive pressure is created in the chamber moving the float within the vacuum chamber in a direction towards the base to contact a print sheet positioned between the plate and the base.
CUTTING STATION FOR A TIRE BUILDING MACHINE
A cutting station for a tire building machine includes a cutting device and a feeding device for feeding a strip of rubber material into the cutting device. The cutting device includes a cutting table for supporting the strip of rubber material in a support plane (P) and a cutting element for cutting the strip of rubber material along a cutting line (C) that extends parallel to the support plane (P), wherein the support plane (P) extends at a support angle (B) with respect to a first vertical plane in a range of five to thirty degrees and wherein the feeding device (5) is arranged for feeding the strip of rubber material onto the cutting table in a downward feeding direction parallel to the support plane. Also provided is a tire building machine incorporating the cutting station and a cutting method.
CUTTING INSTRUMENT, COATING AND METHOD
A new and improved cutting instrument is provided having an enhanced coating. The coating includes titanium, chromium, nitrogen and carbon elements and provides increased wear resistance. The coating can be applied to a variety of metal and non-metallic substrates, which include scissors and knife blades.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CUTTING OR PERFORATING A WEB MATERIAL
Systems and methods utilizing stationary and/or moveable cutting components provide limited interference with web processing operations, such as pad spin and pitch alteration. Heat, laser, fluid, or mechanical cutting operations may be used, including respectively, a heated element (e.g., wire, ribbon, bar, or embossing or perforating element) that may be triggered inductively, water or steam jets, or improved knife/anvil cooperation.
DEVICE FOR CUTTING A SHEET OR LAYER OF MATERIAL
A device is described for cutting a sheet or layer of material (C) advancing on a working plane (32). A blade (30) cuts the material moved on the working plane,
To avoid wear or damages to the working plane (32) the blade (30) comprises a cutting edge (38) which is suspended within a cavity (34) formed in the working plane, so that the cutting edge can come out from the material in correspondence of the cavity.
DEVICE FOR SEPARATING MEDICATION PACKAGES AND A MEDICATION DISPENSER
The present invention relates to a device for separating medication packages from a strip of medication packages. The device comprises a cutting base along which the strip of medication packages is to be moved, a circular cutting blade arranged perpendicularly against the cutting base, and an actuator connected to the circular cutting blade and configured to move the circular cutting blade in opposite first and second directions for cutting the strip between two successive medication packages. In the device the actuator is connected to the circular cutting blade with a spring suspension allowing the circular cutting blade to move in opposite third and fourth directions perpendicular to the cutting base.
Cutting Apparatus
A rotary cutter apparatus uses an improved geometrical arrangement of parts to optimize cutter speed versus evenness and straightness of cut, increase operating life and quietness of operation, and reduce dust formation and energy consumption.
