Concrete drum modes
A concrete mixer vehicle includes a mixer drum, a chute, and a controller. The mixer drum has an inner volume configured to hold a mixture for transportation and placement. The chute is configured to receive mixture exiting the mixer drum and direct the mixture. The controller is configured to receive a selected mode of operation of the mixer drum and the chute. The selected mode of operation is selected from a set of multiple modes of operation of the mixer drum and the chute. The controller is configured to adjust an operation of at least one of the mixer drum or the chute to cause at least one of the mixer drum or the chute to operate according to the selected mode of operation.
Variable Displacement Self Loading Mixing Device and Methods
A device for loading, mixing and delivering ingredients includes a measuring bucket pivotably mounted to the free ends of pickup arms pivotably mounted to a mixing vessel including a lid having a depressed basin with an opening formed therethrough. The mixing vessel and the measuring bucket are simultaneously moved with the measuring bucket in a loading position to fill with ingredients. The measuring bucket is moved relative to the mixing vessel from a transport position to an emptying position emptying the ingredients into the mixing vessel. A linkage is pivotably mounted between the pickup arms and the lid to simultaneously move the lid from a closed position to an open position as the measuring bucket moves from the transport position to the emptying position. The ingredients are mixed by mixing paddles inside the mixing vessel, and the mixed ingredients are released from the mixing vessel through an open gate.

Mixer vehicle
A mixer vehicle provided with a mixer drum mounted on a vehicle, the mixer drum being adapted to load uncured concrete includes a driving device for rotating the mixer drum and a loaded state detector for detecting whether the uncured concrete is loaded on the mixer drum or not. Rotation of the mixer drum by the driving device is stopped if the vehicle is in the stop state and the loaded state detector detects that the uncured concrete is not loaded on the mixer drum.
Additive system for a concrete mixer truck
A concrete mixer vehicle includes a mixer drum, an additive admixture system, and a controller. The additive admixture system includes an air inlet valve, a fluid valve, an air valve, and a pump. The controller is configured to operate the additive admixture system to transition the additive admixture system between an additive addition mode, a drain mode, and a system clear mode. The controller transitions the additive admixture system into the additive addition mode and operates the pump until a desired amount of an additive is added to the mixer drum, transitions the additive admixture system into the drain mode for a predetermined amount of time in response to the desired amount of additive being added to the mixer drum, and transitions the additive admixture system into the system clear mode for a predetermined amount of time to clear stagnant fluid or built up mixture from the additive admixture system.
Mixer drum drive with variable displacement motor
A drum drive system includes a controller configured to control a prime mover, a variable displacement pump, and a variable displacement motor of the vehicle to provide a target drum speed for a drum of the vehicle. To provide the target drum speed, the controller having programmed instructions to (i) initially operate the variable displacement motor at a maximum motor displacement and operate the variable displacement pump at a pump displacement that provides the target drum speed without needing to actively manipulate a prime mover speed of the prime mover, (ii) increase the pump displacement and decrease a motor displacement without needing to actively manipulate the prime mover speed while still providing the target drum speed, and (iii) increase the prime mover speed if necessary to maintain the target drum speed in response to the pump displacement reaching a maximum pump displacement and the motor displacement reaching a minimum motor displacement.
Mixer drum driving apparatus
A mixer drum driving apparatus having a mixer drum carried on a frame of a mixer truck to be free to rotate and a drive source configured to drive the mixer drum to rotate includes a rotary motor configured to drive the mixer drum to rotate as the drive source, a power supply configured to supply power to the rotary motor, and a power generator configured to generate power as the mixer drum rotates and charge the generated power to the power supply.
Concrete residue collection system for concrete mixing trucks
The present invention relates to a new method and system for reclaiming and recycling the concrete residue that remains on key components of a concrete mixing truck in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Any slurry aggregate remaining on the chutes or other parts of the concrete mixing truck is collected by a concrete collection system that is attached to the concrete mixing truck and includes an augur conveyor enclosed in a housing, whereby the augur conveyor is hydraulically extended either behind or in front of the chutes of the concrete mixing truck depending on a type of mixing truck. The augur conveyor can be raised to a maximum height in order to discharge any collected slurry aggregate from the chutes or other parts of the truck back into a top hopper of the concrete truck to be directed back into the mixing drum of the concrete mixing truck.
MIXER DRUM DRIVE WITH VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT MOTOR
A drum drive system includes a control system configured to control a prime mover, a variable displacement pump mechanically coupled to the prime mover, and a variable displacement motor fluidly coupled to the variable displacement pump. The control system has programmed instructions to operate the prime mover, the variable displacement motor, and the variable displacement pump to drive a drum of the vehicle; acquire pressure data indicative of a pressure of a fluid flowing between the variable displacement pump and the variable displacement motor; and in response to the pressure of the fluid being below a threshold pressure and while maintaining a drum speed of the drum: increase a pump displacement of the variable displacement pump, reduce a speed of the prime mover, and reduce a motor displacement of the variable displacement motor.
ADDITIVE SYSTEM FOR A CONCRETE MIXER TRUCK

The controller is configured to operate the additive admixture system to transition the additive admixture system between an additive addition mode, a drain mode, and a system clear mode. The controller transitions the additive admixture system into the additive addition mode and operates the pump until a desired amount of an additive is added to the mixer drum, transitions the additive admixture system into the drain mode for a predetermined amount of time in response to the desired amount of additive being added to the mixer drum, and transitions the additive admixture system into the system clear mode for a predetermined amount of time to clear stagnant fluid or built up mixture from the additive admixture system.
