Extrusion cylinder with means for conducting cooling or heating medium
An extrusion cylinder has a cylinder body for accommodating an extruder worm and is characterized in that an outer wall of the cylinder body has at least one depression which can be covered and which in the covered state is suitable for conducting a cooling or heating medium for controlling the temperature of the cylinder body.
SCREW AND EXTRUDER
A screw with a spiral blade for extruding a plastic elastomer while kneading the plastic elastomer, the screw includes a kneading region where the spiral blade is provided with cutout portions being configured to pass pins, and a plasticizing region being arranged on a downstream side in an extrusion direction of the kneading region. The plasticizing region includes a barrier extending between portions adjacently in the extrusion direction of the spiral blade.
DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLED MIXING OF FLUID TEXTURED MATERIAL ALONG A LINEAR PATH BY MEANS OF VARIABLE OHMIC CONTROL
The invention herein pertains to a device and system for controlled mixing of textured material along a linear path by means variable ohmic controls. The device comprising the following components: a dual auger unit wherein two linear augers are held within a single linear casing, each said linear augers having an increased diameter pitch along its length, perforations along the length of said single linear casing, electro-conductive plates attachable to each said perforation. The preferred embodiment of this invention is intended to be used for mixing pasta filata cheese curds to form a singular cheese mass with consistent texture. The device may also be used to mix other types of fluid textured material including food and non-food substances.
PLASTICIZING CYLINDER OF A PLASTIC EXTRUDER OR AN INJECTION MOLDING MACHINE
A barrel of a plastics extruder or a plasticizing cylinder of an injection-molding machine includes the barrel or cylinder having a wall, at least one spiral recess formed in the wall, and at least one heating element arranged in one spiral recess. The barrel or cylinder has at least one cooling element arranged in another spiral recess and the spiral recesses extend parallel to one another along the surface of the barrel or cylinder. Also, the cooling element is formed as a tube and the tube is or can have a liquid cooling medium flowing therethrough.
High Tg monolithic poly(vinyl acetal) sheet
A polyvinyl acetal poly(vinyl acetal), such as polyvinyl butyral, resin formulation, a method of extruding poly(vinyl acetal) resins, and related materials and products that provide for monolithic poly(vinyl acetal) sheets and glass panes having high Tg of at least 50 C. and high modulus at acceptable rates as indicated by their high melt flow index. This is made possible by a reduction in the amount of plasticizer while using a low molecular weight resin not to exceed 160,000 to obtain a thermoplastic resin having a high melt flow index and high Tg. The articles made with these monolithic interlayer sheets can be used in applications that require good modulus at outdoor temperatures.
Device for deformational processing of materials (variants)
The devices relate to the nuclear, metallurgical, mining, machine-building and food industries and may be used in producing semi-finished products and items made via the extrusion of powders of composite, polymer and other plastic masses. A device for producing semi-finished products or items made of composite, or polymer, or plasticized powder materials includes a screw press with a housing and a screw within the housing. The housing and the screw each have at least one deformational portion with protrusions and may each be formed integrally with the protrusions or may be formed compositionally, having special insertable rings which are provided with protrusions. In carrying out all three device variants, the housing and the screw are formed compositionally, and have provided, on the deformational portions of a ring, stators, which are secured to neighboring portions of the housing, and rotors, which are secured to neighboring portions of the screw.
POLYMERIC FOAM PROCESSING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Polymeric foam processing systems and methods.
MASTERBATCH MANUFACTURING METHOD AND TIRE MANUFACTURING METHOD
A masterbatch manufacturing method in accordance with the present disclosure comprises an operation in which pre-coagulation rubber latex comprising filler is coagulated to obtain a coagulum; an operation in which the coagulum is dewatered; and an operation in which the dewatered coagulum is plasticized as it is dried by means of an extruder; wherein, during the operation in which the dewatered coagulum is plasticized as it is dried, the coagulum comprises a peptizing agent.
Dynamically controlled screw-driven extrusion
A screw-driven extrusion system includes a novel screw-drive extruder. The extruder includes a motor-driven screw. The screw moves solid pellets from a feed hopper into a section that is actively heated. The solid pellets fully liquefy as they pass through the heated section. A control system controls screw, heating, and optionally cooling, operations to selectively control flow of liquefied material from the extruder's tip. The dynamically-controlled can continuously adjust its feed speed and temperature to keep up with continuously changing demands of a larger control system involved in monitoring and running a corresponding 3-D printer in an additive manufacturing process. In contrast to wirefeed extrusion systems that rely on the rigidity of the material in wire-formed feedstock, this screw-driven extrusion system is well-suited to use of less-rigid thermoplastic elastomers for the manufacture of objects for use in soft robotics, medical and mold-making applications.
Extrusion assembly for an additive manufacturing system
An extrusion assembly, a method of constructing an extrusion assembly, and an additive manufacturing system including an extrusion assembly are disclosed. The extrusion assembly includes an extrusion die; a channel having an inlet and an outlet, which is in fluid communication with the extrusion die; and a heating element that melts a filament material drive through the channel so that the melted material is extruded by the extrusion die. The heating element can be helically wound about the channel or extend parallel to the channel, among other configurations. Further, the extrusion assembly includes a temperature sensor that is positioned adjacent to the channel between the extrusion die and the heating element. The channel, heating element, and temperature sensor are enclosed together within a sheath as a single integral unit. An additive manufacturing system utilizing the extrusion assembly can include a drive assembly, a support assembly, and a controller.
