EXTRUDER
An extruder has a barrel extending from a feed inlet end to an extruder outlet end. The barrel has an inner surface, an outer surface, and a wall thickness between the inner and outer surfaces. The extruder also has at least one heating member positioned provided on the barrel; a screw drive motor drivingly connected to a rotatably mounted screw positioned within the barrel, whereby the screw is rotatable at various revolutions per minute (RPM); and a controller is operably connected to the screw drive motor to adjust the RPM of the screw based upon a temperature of material passing through and/or being extruded from the barrel. Methods for operating an extruder filling a mold are also provided.
ELIMINATION OF CONTAMINANTS IN WET NATURAL RUBBER
A method for preparation of decontaminated natural rubber is provided. The method is characterized in that it comprises a decontamination step in which wet natural rubber coagulum passes through a system comprising an extruder and a filter installed at the extruder outlet, the extruder comprising an axially symmetrical grooved sheath comprising in its thickness grooves opening on the inner surface of the sheath.
LINER-TYPE BARREL
A barrel main body, a sleeve, and a fixing mechanism (a fastening hole and a fastening device) are provided. The barrel main body includes a barrel hole having a cylindrical shape and a slit dividing an inner circumferential surface of the barrel hole. The sleeve having a hollow cylindrical shape is removably incorporated into the barrel hole. The slit includes two cutout surfaces facing each other with a space between. The fixing mechanism brings the inner circumferential surface of the barrel hole into close contact with the sleeve without any gap by narrowing the space between the cutout surfaces and deforming the barrel main body.
STUFFING SCREW
A stuffing screw (2) for use in an extruder system comprises a housing (7) and at least one conveying screw (5), which is mounted in a rotatable manner within the housing (7), wherein a conveying space is formed between an inner side of the housing (7) and the conveying screw (5). The stuffing screw (2) is characterized in that at least one portion of the inner side of the housing (7) is provided with one or more depressions, in particular in the form of a groove (13).
Wearing body for receiving a twin screw for extruding meltable material
A wearing body or bushing having an axial twin borehole for receiving a twin screw for extruding meltable material, in particular plastic. In order to avoid cracking and to save material, the wearing body has a radial cross section with an outer contour, which is convexly curved over the entire circumference and is in the form of an oval, and with first and second axes of symmetry, which run perpendicularly to one another and define a point of intersection which lies on the extrusion axis. The width of the oval on the first axis of symmetry is greater than the height of the oval on the second axis of symmetry.
BARREL WITH A CORROSIVE RESISTANT MATERIAL AND METHOD OF FORMING
A barrel with a corrosive resistant material having a first end and a second end spaced apart from one another. The barrel also has an outer surface and an inner surface spaced apart from one another. The outer surface and the inner surface extend between the first end and the second end. The barrel includes at least one notch extending from the outer surface to the inner surface. The at least one notch is filled with the corrosive resistant material from a base end of the notch to the outer surface. The barrel further includes a passage extending through the corrosive resistant material inside of the at least one notch.
Continuous dynamic and efficient devolatilization method for polymer/volatile system based on high mass transfer interfaces
The present application discloses a continuous dynamic and efficient devolatilization method for a polymer/volatile system based on high mass transfer interfaces, including the following steps: providing a dynamic single-screw devolatilizer, feeding a polymer solution to the devolatilizer, wherein the polymer solution includes polymer and volatile substances with small molecule weight, and the volatile substances include organic solvents, residual monomers, water or reaction by-products; conveying and compressing polymer materials by the screw downstream a devolatilization section, and extruding the polymer materials out of the dynamic single-screw devolatilizer directly; or providing a side-feeding extruder downstream of the devolatilization section and feeding plastic additives into a devolatilized polymer melt, and then melt blending the plastic additives with the devolatilized polymer melt at an end of the dynamic single-screw devolatilizer before exiting the dynamic single-screw devolatilizer.
System for molding and coating of pharmaceutical tablets
Disclosed herein are new injection molding-coating devices for the continuous manufacturing of coated pharmaceutical tablets comprising one or more active pharmaceutical ingredients and one or more excipients. Also disclosed herein are methods for the continuous manufacture of coated pharmaceutical tablets using these new devices for the purpose application in the pharmaceutical and drug manufacturing industries.
